I don't like the fact it doesn't have a regular freaken handle. I don't know why new cars have to get fancy with things. Knocking is nice don't get me wrong. Like if my hands are full. Yet I still like the idea of being able to open the door mechanically if the electronics fail. Also I prefer buttons over a screen as well. Damn I can't stress how much I hate this trend of having only a touch screen. I know I'm not the only one. Especially when car designers make it so you gotta go through 100 menus to get to something....

EVs are awesome now, and becoming better and better quickly. People who hate EVs just because it is an EV have some type of cognitive dissonance, and are stuck with what they were like back when Smart Phones were a thing. The batteries are getting lighter, holding more charge, charging faster, last longer, and cheaper. Honestly the only thing that will be holding them back is charging stations. Yet if you own a home? Investing in some renewable, plus an electric car is just one of the best things you can do. Unless you're one of those people who apparently need to drive hundreds of miles without stopping all the time.

I like this series. Driving 4 answers is the best series for car explanation IMO.

@bongmuon @bongmuon Yeah I think that is why I hate touch screens replacing buttons. It isn't tactile! I remember this one tech that was basically a blank colored screen, but it had haptic feedback PLUS the screen was made up of tiny little things that could rise or fall, creating buttons. It looked awesome, and was also useful for blind people. I remember this guy showing how long it took him to get to heated seats in his expensive ass car. He had to use a touch pad, and navigate through multiple menus. Basically impossible to do while driving. Just having what is essentially a tablet bolted onto the dash looks stupid as well. It was cool when Tesla first did it. Now it is same. Maybe if it was curved, and stylish I could get behind it. Anyway I would pay extra the option of a good looking dash with nice tactile, haptic, buttons. I did see one luxury car that was pretty legit. Had both a big touch, plus buttons.

Same. I love the information videos more than the build, but they have such solid editing and... A fun vibe? I don't know the energy is amazing, and the information videos are fantastic for someone like me. I do wish they delved even deeper onto somethings. Like instead of telling us just about an engine and how it works. Go into detail on the manufacturing on said engines. Or the advandces in making cars for instance. Only manufacturing videos I ever see are about the gigapress, but I know there are more. The fucking commercial in this video haha.

Can't you just get a regular holder then just use that and I don't know... Turn your head? Is your head and neck fused or something? I met someone who couldn't turn their head. Her nickname was a chicken head, but that was unrelated. That is because she was known to suck a lot of cock in high school. The injury she had that made it so her neck was fused was also unrelated to the act of fallatio, and happened after. I don't think she really does it anymore as turning her head caused pain. Maybe this would help her and you. Sorry about your neck, that sucks. Like she use to.

Wait till axial flux motors, and solid state engine. Helix UK is making a motor that is 800bhp, at 52 pounds. Stick two of those in a car for AWD, with Solid State batteries that have 450-500 kw/kg, and bam... You're golden. Or put a jet turbine in a car as a generator for a series hybrid with those two motors. Bam. Don't have to worry about charging. Jet turbines are way more efficent, lighter, and more reliable than ICE. Lose the drive train. Electric cars are without a doubt going to blow ICE out of the water. Well unless it is a top fuel dragster.

Give it five years from this writing. Batteries really aren't up to snuff I think for a truck that will cost 20k more. I also think construction or blue collared workers are anti EV crowd in general. Same with farmers. I see a lot who will give any reason - usually out dated - to why EVs suck. So just selling an EV to those who want a construction truck will be tough. Anyway give it five years, and EVs will basically be so much better in many ways over ICE. 500kw/kg batteries are in production as I write this. You'll get huge instant torque, incredibly cheap fuel, and so much cheaper on maintenance. Everyone forgets about how much maintenance ICE need. At the cost of having to charge for twenty minutes every 300 miles. Oh and loss of performance in cold weather, but I hear that is getting a lot better especially with solid state batteries. Not to mention car companies are getting better at insulating and controlling tempature. I hope more companies who are serious on EVs start really funding good super charging stations... Having a few chargers in a big city isn't enough... You'll need more spread out every 30 minutes or so to scratch that range anxiety. It isn't even range anxiety. It is charge anxiety. Going out 30 minutes to a charger to have to wait must suck.

Agreed. The issue though for Tesla, and I think just EVs in general however is that car enthusiasts can't stand them. Basically somewhere along the way EVs and Tesla alienated the car enthusiast crowd. EVs are portrayed as being driven by some hippie vegan software engineer who is a snow flake. It is a shame as EVs are awesome. I want them for the raw instant torque... Batteries have loads of potential, and are less complicated over the lifespan of the vehicle. Like I'm sorry, but the Hummer EV makes a Ford 150 blowing coal look like a bitch! No one is saving the world in either.

@ILOVEDV You are right EVs trucks don't compare. Way more power, and torque. Faster. Instant power to boot. Just less range, but even that is improving. Easier to maintain. Hell you can even live 100% off the grid. They've got solar trailers you can haul, park, and charge wherever you can place a trailer legally. ICE are stuck. They aren't going to be getting much better. See now you don't even know what you are talking about. The F 150 can be Diesel... Just because you're ignorant doesn't mean you have to spread it.

Can we not make the damn things lighter at least? I've never heard of an aluminum block diesel for instance. Man I hope Liquid Piston diesel rotrary X Engine actually goes into production. Seems like making it actually last long is the issue. It would be perfect for a bike. With that said... I'm an electric man myself. Pop on E Helixs motor which is 57 pounds and gives over 800 BHP. Or so they say. If structural batteries can become a thing? Make the frame out of the battery? Bikes would be boring, but awesome. Especially as batteries get lighter, and more powerful themselves. 800 BHP on a bike. Hah. That would be so much fun.

@kuroko.k8631 Haha sure if people weren't idiots, and were financially responsible. Car enthusiasts can be pretty bad with getting a car they shouldn't. Remember one guy who was a sales man say he needed this Mercedes... Had to look the part.. He sold shit over the phone. Remember him whining when it broke down. Said he had zero dollars. Told him well at least when he has to live in it he will be doing it in European luxury.

@dragospahontu Quality as in? A lot of expensive cars are not long term reliable from what I understand. I always hear bad things ok Ferrari in particular.

What are you talking about? You are literally supposed to pay attention even with self driving cars... I mean you ARE supposed to do everything you just said just period. Last time I checked you needed a license. It will be like that for a very long time as well, because just like the AI missed the truck? So did the guy. Eventually AI will just be safer overall. I mean I've seen Tesla save us twice as a lyft passenger from an accident by once swerving, and the second hitting the breaks ASAP. Personally I think ultrasonic/radar with optical cameras will be the best combination. One can see everything a human can, and the other can see beyond that. I find it ironic people lose their shit when a car that was self driving crashes or hits something. When it happens once in a blue moon opposed to the thousands of accidents that happen a day with human drivers. Doesn't Google have self driving taxis in some cities now that have a better than human accident rate?

I feel like it is the biggest disappointment after all the damn hype from the concept to production. Felt like it took them ages to produce. I don't know. It doesn't look like a car worth that price to me. I feel like it is missing something. I would still whip one! It is still a nice car. Honestly I would buy a Kia EV6GT over this. Then use that money for something else. It is faster too, and looks better in real life. I detested Kia my entire life till I saw it blow past me. I didn't know Kia changed their logo so I was like the hell was that?

Something tells me you get what you pay for, and that it is a death trap.

@dazhigh9208 That is because we keep adding more gears, and John is from the future. They got those 100 speed manuals as they think automatic means AI. Apparently Vin Diesel as well. I'm all for the Omega and X diesel engine to start appearing and battling for small engine dominance. I won't hold my breath though.
1
I wonder how the diesel x engine from liquid piston will be used. It is a rotary, and incredibly small for the amount of horse power it puts out. Would fix some of the issues. Not sure about things like torque. Or the Omega engine.

The more I hear about the guy behind McLaren, and the owner of Koensieg? The more I like them. I don't know much about Pagani outside of them being fast. Ferrari? I use to like them over Lambo, but once I found out just how... Pretentious and snobby they are? Nah, even if I was a billionaire I wouldn't get one just because of their antics. I hear they suck as far as maintenence goes, and even feel cheap on some things.

The issue is the volumetric density of hydrogen will always be an issue while batteries actually have potential to be better. You would have no cargo space for anything worth a damn. If we could develope lithium air batteries? We could make 1,000-5,000 kwh/kg batteries. Even more if we used the surrounding air which has a therotical limit of 12k!

Why would it be unpopular? Personally Lucid needs a better marketing team. Their cars I hear are so much better. Don't have the quality issues that Tesla does either. Well were. Not sure now. Personally I would buy a Lucid over a Tesla (Well of this writing. The freaken KIA EV6 GT looks sick. I hated Kias my whole life, but that thing is a super car for cheap! Shit range though, but looks awesome especially in real life. Seen one, and was like the hell is that? Someone said it could be a Kia, because they have a new logo. I was like the hell!? Nooooooo. Then I remembered I am an adult) I'd never buy a Tesla though simply due to the interiors. I don't like how empty they look. I don't like just having just a tablet either. It was cool back in 2016. Not anymore. Anyway I hope Lucid, Rivian, and other companies succeed. Having competition is good.

A goose penis swaying in the wind. Honestly I will never understand luxury goods. That watch comparison is fitting for me. I'll pay a million for engineering talent and unique designs. I'll take the complicated mechanics of a Vacheron even if I can get some more accurate. Probably would ruin it trying to see all the parts. I don't need a watch created from the rarest minerals.
1
I've seen it in real life. I think it looks great. Would I drop that much money? Oh hell no. I prefer other cars, and manufacturers who aren't pretentious pricks.
