  1. What are you talking about? You are literally supposed to pay attention even with self driving cars... I mean you ARE supposed to do everything you just said just period. Last time I checked you needed a license. It will be like that for a very long time as well, because just like the AI missed the truck? So did the guy. Eventually AI will just be safer overall. I mean I've seen Tesla save us twice as a lyft passenger from an accident by once swerving, and the second hitting the breaks ASAP. Personally I think ultrasonic/radar with optical cameras will be the best combination. One can see everything a human can, and the other can see beyond that. I find it ironic people lose their shit when a car that was self driving crashes or hits something. When it happens once in a blue moon opposed to the thousands of accidents that happen a day with human drivers. Doesn't Google have self driving taxis in some cities now that have a better than human accident rate?
