  1. I am hoping the AF is simply waiting for the new engine, and active flow control technologies. We have new engines on the horizon. Rotating detonation; scram hybrids. I also saw a new electric/natural gas hybrid which was nuts too. Should be super sonic and sub sonic efficently. Alex touched on active flow which is super cool for better stealth. Going to have flying triangles soon. Perhaps UFO shape one day haha. Anyway future is interesting. I hope I live long enough to see it as I am terminally/chronically ill.

  2. Also let us not forget the USAF has the b21s. I like the concept of missile boats. Having a huge stealth aircraft with huge sensors, linking with recon drones, and carrying either a ton of missiles, or more likely huge ones that can out range the enemies. That is a super dangerous combo.
