  1. I believe the F 16 shines in keeping energy in certain maneuvers. Not that it matters. The chances of either going into gun range is so minimal that honestly I wouldn't be mad if all fighters lost guns entirely. I think the biggest asset will be to protect ground forces when pushing the line. Then most importantly being able to use those HARM missiles. Russia has hundreds of missiles and launchers. Ukraine should be going after a radar, command, and EW with them. Yet I think more than likely they will just be defending Ukrainian airspace. Still though there isn't enough to truly sway the war. From the latest news Russia is basically on a war footing economically now, and will have at least 30 new aircraft per year. So the what? 60, F 16s where some are outdated isn't going to do much. I hope we continue to support Ukraine and send MORE.

  2.  @mfakhripratama2266  The F 35 B and C doesn't have a gun either, which i didn't know about till recently. Only the A variant has the internal gun! They used a mission gun pod if required. Makes sense these days when an F 35 can fire an aim missile at targets behind them. Honestly the Navy requirements for the NGAF look promising. It is an interceptor. Relativepy big, for fuel, internal armament, and sensors. Huge engines for top speed. With agility taking second fiddle. Missiles are just too good. 99% of fights are going to end before gun range unless something VERY messed up happened.
