  1. Agreed. No reason in today's day and age not to just have both for redundancy. In fact I'm surprised it isn't mandatory for intercontinental flights. Gaps in the data? Find the box. If no gaps? Well no need to spend god knows how much to go searching in the ocean for an incredibly tiny piece of wreckage that could be anywhere in a huge radius. Seriously it can't be that hard. Ya know those planes are streaming more internet.
