What I find funny is this law would be smart if it was put in place to encourage more advancement with genetic technology. Perfect time to design female only eggs. No need to shred males with some CRISPR (or something) Yet the European Union is highly against food technology even if it is proven safe. They suffer from what is called the naturalistic fallacy, and are anti GMOs. Look if we want to support a growing world population we need to figure out to be more efficent. How about we just either breed a species that has good male chickens or genetically engineer them. Or just don't have chicken.

The creatures that cannot live amongst humanity will perish like those that failed to adapt before.

It is natural to eat meat. What we need to do is give those animals a decent life before slaughter. The way some animals are commercially farmed should change. With that said if aliens gave me life. Raised me till maturity, and gave me everything I needed to be content. Then slaughtered me at age 35 without me knowing? Hey I think better to live a life like that then never to exist at all. Even if it meant I winded up on someone else's table. Afterall I would be raised in captivity, and I would be ignorant of anything else. I do think if I found out I was going to be eaten I would revolt. Yet that is just life. Give me a 100 million dollars right now, and twenty years. You can have me on your table willingly .

I sort of agree. I think we will eventually slow it down. Modern tech or not. The world was not meant to sustain this many humans. People are under delusions. It will take a WW3, and a sustainable population to change the decline. Life will go on. Question is how much will die. All systems strive to reach an equilibrium.

@PsillyApeUSA Modern world lives off coffee. There always will be coffee. Maybe not old school traditional grown from the same countries. One day we are going to have genetically modified super coffee that grows in abundance easily grown by robots. Unless government voted in by ignorant people squashes progress of course. My point is humans are very good at growing things they want. We will grow it indoors if we have to.
