  1. Wait I this THE loyal wingman that the USAF keeps talking aboutm It is slow. I don't see how this will be a loyal wingman if it can't keep up with other strike fighters. So I'm curious as how it will be used. Probably just like other drones but with the capability of being controlled by F 35 and the new sixth generation. Maybe SEAD since it seems to be expendable.

  2.  @peter.wilson  Usually I would agree with ya but I think for the Navy due to Carriers becoming so vulnerable at open sea? It will be more important now than ever to react quickly to threats. The USN needs to compete against land based missiles that can be as large as they want and therefore have greater stand off distances. Navy doesn't have the ability to launch giant efficient bombers that can carry massive missiles. So yeah a large(to carry some massive missiles or a bunch of them), very stealthy, fast top speeded, and efficient (for range) would be what is needed. Large radar as well... Mobility and dog fighting I think is the most over rated trait in a modern fighter. Also I think the gun should be dropped again... Vietnam was ages ago and technology is a hell a lot better now to the point where you and I can take out aircraft. Last true dogfight or jet versus jet gun kill was what? The 80s? Hoping we get those laser weapons soon.
