Yeah it is. What the hell are the two little pieces in the back that point down called? Some diffuser or somethin? Gives the plane an X look instead of a V.

Tilt Powered VTOL is the future due to retreating blade stall being such an issue for traditional helicopters, among other issues like super sonic blade speeds. I wonder when we will be seeing hybrid craft with electric motors. A lot easier to rotate everything if it is electrical. Not many companies working on huge electric motors for aircraft that I know of. We definitely need some stupid powerful but light motor for them There is a motor that supposedly has 800bhp at 52 pounds by EHelix. That doesn't include cooling so yeah, but try to scale that up, and we can have interesting craft. As you said we have killer processing power for insane flight. Look at Space X flight systen while the craft was landing the rocket last test. The flight surfaces were vaporizing, and it still landed the massive booster after a bunch of other malfunctions. Outstanding.

I seen a UFO with a friend. We stopped the car and got out because it was just hovering in place and I asked him is that a helicopter. I could just barely see the silhoutte of it against the night sky and it was a triangle shape. Which is odd because it was not making any noise which means it was huge and far up high or low and cpmpletely silent. After two minutes it took off instantly faster than anything I seen like it was 0 and then 100 with no acceleration north in between, and before it hit the horizon where we couldn't see it it turned east towards the oceon. It had some faint line right in the middle that was sort of like the reflection of a red marble. Three dimmer lights on the corners. I don't know what it was. I just saw it with someone. The silence and the fact no human could withstand those G Forces is beyond me. I just wish I saw it with someone else as for months afterwards my friend would call me for any suspicious aircraft at 2am and shit. He went Fox Mulder on me. I also wish we had more than flip phones back then cause my memory is fading.

It reminds me of the Lancer going super sonic. Basically they would do a stupid low pass hitting super sonic.(I know it has technology to fly low.) I was told by a soldier it made enemies disoriented, deaf, and scatter them. I don't know about the deaf part. Honestly I'm surprised there aren't more sonic weapons.

Like the f 35 is the QB, and the AWAC is the coach. Time will tell.

It failed because it is missing one more giant engine in the middle making it 69 engines! Hurray for odd symmetry! Always a big one in the middle when you have two pylons on the wings. This jet will be made in the future. Something like it that is. Just an electric hybrid one. Tilt powered craft are the future! Crazy how far ahead of its time it was. We would still struggle to make it. Yet active flow control is being worked on now by NASA.

@ratshipyt I know it's hard to hard to judge the size or speed of it but acceleration is easy. Yet neither of those aircraft transition or accelerate that quickly nor can bank at basically a right angle. It went from stand still to over a few hundred and was gone over the horizon. The only thing I know is you couldn't hear it. It took off from a standstill to insane speeds and turned just as insanely. It didn't break the sound barrier. Oh and somehow my friend and I lost a few hours of time. Haha JP on that last one.
4
@chamberlane2899 Link to it? I keep finding the SU 34. animals, and some plane from Sweden, haha.
4
@HighFlyer6969 I have never read it killing people but there are videos of it breaking windows and disorienting people. I'll edit this post for sure in a second, because I am not sure outside I wouldn't want to have one break a sound barrier right above me. Edit an Air Embolism in your lungs can happen. I don't see any confirmed deaths.

@piscessoedroen Let me ask did you say suggestion on purpose?! If so heck yeah.
3
If only he can get all the juicy details on the Mk V. Now that tank looks legit like the worlds best current tank due to all the situational awareness the sensors provide. In theroy anyway.

@BruceLean3 I like reading about planes. Wish I had a few million dollars to buy and maintain a personal plane. Just two agile small ones so I can put a laser tag system and have mock dogfights with people. Yeah whatever it is makes it look badass from behind. I find they have some really curious design choices like the wing.
3
@HighFlyer6969 The way you worded your sentence was like sonic booms are against the convention like it is killing people. Your reply is exactly what I already said with the injuries. Read better. You're the one that replied an answer and I couldn't find it on how or why we don't use sonic booms. I asked for information and not speculation from a random YT.

Only bested by Freedom Air in name.

No Osprey or F 35 would pull those Gs. We are talking two miles over the horizon from a standstill and both aircraft are LOUD.
2
It can be an aircraft from something like 40k? Borg? Ugly ships in Stalwars. As long as it does the job who cares. This goes for any project. PS The Millennia Falcon is over rated.
2
@Followme556 Yeah Stubby should be the nickname. Call it the Razorback.

A friend and I saw something like this in Groton CT in about 2007. I remember seeing the light and shape and was like WTF? So we stopped and turned off the car. It was standing still for a half a minute before doing crazy acceleration. There was no noise yet you could see the silhouette on a dark night. So I was confused. Either it was massive up high or silent AF. I just know it went from floating above us to going over the horizon and towards the Atlantic. I won't speculate yet both saw it. The light in the middle was like an infrared light. Red.

@nicks238 Honestly that link looks crazy. I won't click on that. Thank you for replying.

While it is very capable. I've heard it seems to have targeting issues, aquiring, and hunting issues. I guess even the M version isn't that great relative to western targeting systems. Right now the majority of their missions are just being rocket artillery since they are so vulnerable to MANPADs. (I'm under the belief ALL helicopters are really vulnerable). Countries including the US need to make helicopters snipers and more indirect fire capabilities at range. Being able to kill over 5km out more often would be key to use terrain as cover against a MANPAD counterstrike. If helicopters could have AI target for them while the gunner just had to touch a touchscreen with the video and graphic overlays on it? That would be cool. That way a helicopter could come in and blitz targets, unloading at different targets in minutes. The military really needs to take a peak at video game controls and overlays(graphics). Also a trophy system. Alright I'm dreaming!

Or one was made and determined it wasn't needed and too expensive to maintain and risky to use. Something like that.

@jawarakf That is why the F 22 would rarely fly alone. People act like the USAF specifically flies aircraft by themselves which could be nothing further from the truth in times of war. There will be drones, AWACs, air refuelers, decoy missiles, and a ton of fifth and fourth generation jets flying with the F 22s. The Navy is a bit more limited in the types of aircraft for sure that it can send on missions. I seriously doubt there will be something like squadron versus squadron of J 20s and just F 22s. The F 22s at least will always have something flying with them is what I'm trying to say unless somehow they have to scramble. Even then I'm pretty sure the newest upgraded F 22 can detect and launch all of its missiles before the J 20 can lock onto them even without AWACs. I'm more afraid of saturation attacks by Chinese land missiles.

Of course I would argue the millions Russians dying faster than the Germans could kill em mattered more than Winter. Fact the Germans brought three months of supplies. Wait weeks? A ludicrous low amount. What is funny about this plane is all those resources for really nothing. They would have never been able to build enough to matter. Even if that special raid succeeded it would have been a simple hiccup.

@Baer9471 Read a military analysis on that mission.

You said a lot with saying very little but the video was entertaining. We get it they ate the same groups of foods as we did but it was varied. Mostly the staple grains which we did know. You didnt say what specific or even what time of year! A winter diet for instance was probably a lot less varied as they would be eating fermented foods and salted meats. How did European peasants like to spice up their food without the spices from the new world or asia! No sugar for sweeteners! You have a lot of potential - nearly professional - but again try to find some details... I know for instance they did have bitter oranges and lemons/citron! (Cheaper down in South Europe obviously). Imagine Ireland with no potatoes or Italy with tomatoes!

@LRRPFco52 This is why it's important to maintain our specialized manufacturers. It might be more expensive but I think in the long term it's better to have your defense industry be able to produce most of the components in any given system. The fact Russia needs western components for their systems is a huge handicap. Not sure what's happening with the Australian sub, but hoping they do make sure most of it is built in AUS while working with the US and UK. Even if if will have teething issues. I feel like too many manufacturers from too many different countries work on the F 35. I'm not sure which ones are irreplaceable though. Its like the relationship between Carl Zeizz, ASLM, and TSCM. Take away one and the other is nigh useless.
1
@LRRPFco52 Yeah its a shame. What's really weird about military manufacturing is once they are done building it the specialized equipment just like... Gets scraped and sold or whatever. It vanishes. People say we cannot recreate the B1-B today due to the special processes and equipment to create the wing joints. For one I call bullshit. We just don't want to spend money on it. I bet we could make a better version in fact with all the advances in metallurgy, engineering, and manufacturing. At least to keep our current fleet of 45 for a bit. I hear that the AF is waiting for hypersonic engines before they try an other low level, fast, penetration bomber. Anyway you would think we would save such highly advanced equipment in a warehouse, and save the knowledge from these programs. Sure it will cost money but look at us trying to scramble to get the sixth generation fighter into service. I am happy that this project seems to be focused and doesn't have politicians and shit demanding it to be the master of all which is what plagued the F 35. The goal posts kept moving and it is ridiculous to think that there is a plane that can fill each services needs. Just a random rant sorry. I do want to see the marines get a dedicated STOL ground attack craft. Something that is rugged, long loitering times, and cheap to produce and easy to maintain, STOL and packs one hell of a punch. I'm not even sure if they'll get a marine Valor even though that would be perfect for them.
1
@LRRPFco52 Traitor proof. Just gotta make sure our projects are also leak proof. Crazy how many security breaches there have been. We only hear about it once they find out there was an issue. Ideally you want to steal information without anyone the wiser.

I seen something similar to the TR3B. We were driving down his street when I forgot my wallet so we stopped. I look up because a red marble reflection caught my eye. I asked my friend if he could see it as it was just floating so we turned off the car and stared at if for a good 5 minutes. I could see the silhouette which was triangle and the light was in the middle. So either it was a MASSIVE craft high up, or completely silent. Then it accelerated to an insane speed from the hover and turned east towards the ocean\horizon under two seconds. This was Groton CT mid 2005ish. No pilot could handle those Gs. Years later there I learned other craft have also been seen. I am still a skeptic and if I saw it by myself I wouldn't even bring it up, but the speed and silence make me question what it could be. Since Groton CT has a sub base and such, and my friend went full X-File on me and would make me go outside to see if I can see X aircraft. Like dude it is a helicopter you can hear that a mile away haha.
1
@nullinary011 Yeah seems so. Do they move as fast as I saw mine? Only saw it once though.
1
@johnnyboythepilot4098 I don't know WTF it was and won't even bother. It was silent which caught my attention outside of the light. Yet the acceleration would snap you in two. Like it had only two settings. Stop and go. Still want to know if it was big and far off or small and quiet because I saw the faint sihllouette. Either way I don't know if you're fucking with me and it is going over my head but who is Salvatore Pais?
1
@VyarkX Oh wow, I uhhh... Well! That is a reasonable name, and now I feel stupid. They are also called Strakes I guess. Wonder how much it adds to the RCS. I was typing in everything else haha. Googles AI was probably like what the hell does the guy want.
1
@VyarkX Wow. I actually never noticed the F 16 having them. Always noticed the massive intake or payload I suppose. I prefer the J 20 with the canted symetry, but F 16 looks great with it.
1
@EricWulfe Yup someone else told me. Kind of obvious as I was typing in all sorts of shit to no avail. F 16 just got an upgrade with some! Love that bird.
1
They gave up stealth for range it seems. Wonder what that diffuser looking thing at the tail is for. That can't help it's RCS along with it's size. Seems like they are going for a interceptor type. Long range, long range missiles, etc. Not bad considering how new China is. Americas military - specifically the US Navy knows how we shot ourselves with the F 35. If the F-35 had more range it would be all what it was suppose to be, but it sacrificed that for everything else it seems. Again all fifth gen aircraft are amazing but time will tell just how amazing.
1
@CrossWindsPat Nah if they used it to be real it's not to show off military might but to have plausible deniability. "Oh you mean you saw... A jet... That is similar to the one in a Hollywood movie? Sure okay buddy.
1
@ItsTsuki My grandpa worked at Lockheed and they honestly thought they were working on a missile. I forgot what he was actually involved in or he didn't say but information was compartmentalized. He did mention just getting 1% more efficiency from the engine would mean a huge payday haha. If you know someone older who has had an interesting job... Make sure you listen and get the information because they won't be around forever.
1
@CrossWindsPat "They" said they did it with Roswell and hence the explosion of microchips from then on and encouraged grey alien tropes. Then the military would help or fund scifi movies. They do help a lot of movies with things but is it reaaaaalllly just for recruitment purposes? Haha. I've seen a UFO with a friend about 12 years ago. I won't even begin to speculate what it was but I had a good minute to look at it with him before it took off like a bat out of hell. Near a sub base in CT.
1
@radiofreealbemuth8540 Don't know it was silent and my friend and I had it hover over us. No man can handle those Gs
1
@jesusisalive3227 Yeah. I know one thing is that I know nothing. My friend went X-Files on it. Became . Annoying. AF. Called me to go see if any craft was it.
