  1. It failed because it is missing one more giant engine in the middle making it 69 engines! Hurray for odd symmetry! Always a big one in the middle when you have two pylons on the wings. This jet will be made in the future. Something like it that is. Just an electric hybrid one. Tilt powered craft are the future! Crazy how far ahead of its time it was. We would still struggle to make it. Yet active flow control is being worked on now by NASA.
