I am 100% an EV guy. They have better performance where I want it by far. Tesla bare minimum design is horrendous to me. Buttons, and even dials are much more intuitive for the main tasks. Also in my opinion looks better. Tesla interiors are tacky. They were cool 14 years ago when touch pads were still novel. Not anymore. The issue is. Having a single touch screen is cheaper I have read, and manufacturers therfore WANT it to be a thing. I will also say. The touch screen isn't as problematic once you get use to it. Like seriously, some people act like it you have to solve a puzzle.

@LegateMalpais Buttons are more efficent, and faster than having to go through menus, period. Buttons can have haptic feedback. You know if you're touching the right one without looking. I have also seen touch screens lag, and a myriad of videos of them bugging out or freezing. Also some just have terrible UI. So your comparison is as lame as a Teslas interior. Touch Screens only have an advantage when the task is more complex like adjusting the ACs air flow to a special direction or something. Good for cameras, and other things. Yet for many basic tasks that you use often while driving. Buttons are superior. So you might like your cheap cost saving measure that looks as empty as your soul. I don't. Outside of that god awful trend of a minimalist design. EVs are great.
