  21. I seen it myself 15yo ago. In Groton CT. I dunno what it was. Fast. Will edit later on. Sorry was on dialysis. My friend and I absolutely saw one late at night when he was bringing me home. I saw something and was like huh that has weird lights. You see that? Is that a helicopter? So he stops the car and at the time we are thinking it is coming towards and nearly right above us. Yet after looking for a minute it hasn't moved at all so I tell him to turn off the car. Still nothing! So we get out of the car and it is just floating above us. Now here is the weird thing... We could see the silhouette of it in the shape of a triangle against the night sky. It had three light, and one bigger in the middle that reflected light weirdly - almost like looking at a red marble with an inner light. Yet there was no noise at all on top of it. So that either means the thing was massive and high up in the sky. Or super quiet and low to the ground... So it couldn't be a helicopter as I'm use to them. Anyway we are standing there for five minutes and this was right when cell phones had cameras so it had like 1 mega pixel, haha. He tried though. Anyway then it took off like a bat out of hell. There was no acceleration. Just standing still and full speed. It traveled north about a mile before going over a hill and tree line and then a split second later appeared where the hill dipped heading east over the ocean. With how fast it popped east I doubt it even turned - just a hard right like a upside down L angle. That acceleration and G force would have killed anyone. I only told a few people about the story. Years later an ex I told it to showed me a story about the TR3B and sure enough it is it. Amazes me how so many others seen it. I'm a skeptic yet I cannot deny what I saw. I won't pretend to know what it is or speculate. I just know what both of us saw and know how fast the f***ing thing went and that it was silent. I wish I had something to judge the size or speed of it, but it was a bright night sky with only some clouds. Darker then the night sky though! No sonic boom by the way - complete silence. Again it didn't acceleration not like a rocket. Shot off like a bullet. Total time was probably a bit less then ten minutes. When it was hovering it did absolutely nothing. Just hope it is on my side!

  153. Yup. TikTok is full of ignorance. Worse than YouTube, but I forget there are many young people here. I for one am glad Bryan isn't fooled by it, and calls it out. Many people are afraid to even defend Isreal a little bit or the BS spewed. I wish Isreal was more discriminate, and careful. I don't like their right wing government or little colonies. Yet I choose the lesser evil to a situation where peace doesn't seem to be an option, and think it is them. I remember any time a terrorist attack happened that the people of Gaza cheered death to America and Isreal. I remember long ago in October when they did a mass assault, and slaughtered nearly 2,000 people. By Gaza governing body no less that admits it wants genocide. I think any country would react the same, if not worse. Yet since it is Isreal it gets much more hate, and so much more scrutiny. I see no easy solutions to fight those who hide amongst their own populace, and use them as human shields without thought to collateral damage, and I blame Hamas for every civilian death for a war they started. Imagine if Mexican cartels ruled Mexico and then launched a massive attack with death squads, and took 100 hostages? Mexico would regret that for a half century too. If Palestinians could wipe out the West, and Isreal? I think the majority would vote to do so. Luckily for us all non Muslims they cannot. Lesson here is don't attack Isreal. They will fight tooth and nail, and take more land. You think the Arabs learned this lesson in the Six Day War.

  265. As someone with liver and kidney problems? Milk is just amazing and there is literally nearly nothing oz for oz as cheap and jam packed with both macro and micronutrients. You have to go into dietary or nutritional drinks to get that and while I love Nova Source? It has too many vitamins and minerals and I have to be careful not to get too much of any as my body cannot clear them. Phosphorous being the biggest one I struggle with. I need to gain weight. A glass of full milk has lipids, carbs, and complete protein. I've tried the other replacements and they just don't compare. Especially when I buy Lacktaid Protein or Fairlife. Sure it is saturated fat but ATM I need any fat in order to gain weight for a transplant. Chocolate Milk is also the nectar of the gods! Anyway like all super foods and such it isn't a pancea. Moderation is also key. PS: One reason why Milk is important for me is because of the low fluid restrictions. I can only have 24oz of liquid per day and that includes water in food. So it doesn't make sense for me to drink something like clean ice water or even juice... If I put something in my body? Ideally it should have both macro and micronutrients. To me this is the hardest thing about dying is the fact I don't produce urine. No coffee, tea, juice, soup... I am forever thirsty and if I ever get a transplant the first thing I'm doing is chugging a huge glass of ice cold chocolate milk. Making a slushi and drinking it till I puke or can't handle the brain freeze.

  434. They should. I saw a UFO with a friend, but this was back during Nokia days so no video. It was night time and we stopped because I couldn't find my wallet when I see the silhouette of a triangle with four lights. Three on the corners and one dim red that reflected light like a marble in the middle. It was just hovering there and wasn't moving so I told my friend to turn the car off and we are both looking at it seeing if it is moving towards us or what. What is crazy is I could see the silhouette of it against the night sky but hear NO noise so either it was fucking massive and high in the air or lower to the ground and completely silent. After a good five minutes it took off like it had two modes. Completely still to over the horizon within three seconds and then it came back in sight because it turned 90 degrees towards the ocean. It was there and gone within seconds and no man could survive that type of acceleration. I doubt any missile could move that fast. My head could barely keep up. A few years later I was told what I saw is called the Tr3b. It is a very common UFO spotted and recorded by people. I'm not going to sit here and say I know what it was and I don't expect anyone to believe me. If I weren't with someone who also saw it I would think it was my mind or something. I just know I saw it, it was silent, and it moved way faster than any large craft should. I do not know the size of it, could've been helicopter size or as large as a blimp. Anyway if I were the government and it wasn't my aircraft I would be investigating it too.

  467. I understood the fued. I understand war as terrible as it is. Yet a country that can produce such monsters in such abundance shall gain no pity from me. These vile creatures whom actions were recorded by their own hands did not spring from thin air. They were given birth, raised, taught, fed, housed, and supported by a culture where it is acceptable for a dominate organization to reign. They were supported, directly, and indirectly. They turned a blind eye, and in their negligence of action allowed this hate to seether until it manifested in what we saw today. I do not believe all cultures are just, "good", or deserve to exist the older i get. 1940s Germany was one of them, and it took the heavy handed strategies of the allies to put a stop for the future of those around them. I do not think the creation of Palestine would make a huge impact. Therfor I will choose the lesser of two evils, because Isreal is not without blame. I just hope Isreal doesn't become worse. Those collateral damage I attribute to Hamas for hiding amongst civilians. It is a terrible situation, and I hope the truly innocent do survive, and get assimilated into other cultures where such hateful rhetoric, and dispicble actions are not encouraged, or ignored. If I was in a Palestinians shoes? Well I wouldn't expect mercy that is for sure, and I wouldn't keep giving strawman arguments on why it was okay or happened... It doesn't matter why it happened, and there is no justification in the world to where it makes it okay to decapitate children. Again not all cultures deserve to exist.

  528. Yeah I had pipe dreams myself when I was young . Any third world power would be playing global chess just the same. It would probably pit a war between the east, and west, for its own gain or agenda to weaken both. Xi has stated multiple times he will go to war to unite, "China". Has concentration camps. Is aggressive with nearly every neighbor on land and sea. Stealing every IP like the grabbie hands the Han are. India, Taiwan, Philippines, Japan, Tibet, Vietnam, Mynamar, apal, and I think Bhutan and Burma have huge issues with China. Russia has invaded Ukraine unprovoked when it tried to join NATO after they were tired of Russia interfering with their politics. Russia never stopped expanding when the Soviets fell. Europe tried to think it would stop, and dreamed peace. Yet right after it fell it started a war in the Czech Republic, invaded it, and then same with Georgia. Then in 2014 invaded Ukraine, and then in 2022. Gee, no wonder why so many ex Soviet countries joined NATO. They knew how Moscow operates. Russia has covert operations everywhere. They play the same game, but even more with manipulating everything they can through their government funded third parties. Sorry if the rest of the world is too busy with their own dilemmas, and can hardly build a jet. Too busy trying to clean water. Let alone a modern fighter. France, Turkey, South Korea, and Japan are all countries you speak of. Yet you think they are pawns like a Russian bot. Nah bro, their goals align with the US, because it is pretty clear to everyone the alternatives are far far worse. I too, use to think the US was the worse. Then I grew up and saw what Russia and China do daily, and realized the US isn't so bad. The alternatives are terrible. TL:DR Russia and China definitely deserve the sanctions. If they chilled out no one would back the US.

  557. Extrapolate. Because I think the only thing that matters is if the kid knows the material. Not whether they do redundant work. Putting memorization above all in the age of the internet. How about we teach kids to weed out misinformation, yes? When I went to school. 40% of our grade was home work. 60‰ of it was from a massive test, maybe a project, depending on class. I aced the test with 90% or higher. Yet I only got D-, barely passing as I couldn't, and didn't do the home work. I usually had to do extra credit the teachers gave me. They knew my home life was hell. They'd have given me a better grade if they could have for sure. It isn't right. We should be teaching functional critical thinking for our children. Not if they remember what exact date Pearl Habor happened. They only need to know what happened, and how things from history effect us today. (I love history too.) Do I really need to know how to do complex math if I am not going to become anything that uses it? What homochirality is? Second language? That should be taught at a young age. Again not so important. Critical thinking skills is what we need to focus on. Then the skills we use in daily life with technology. Banking/debt. How to pay bills. First aid. Empathy. Then electives for kids to pursue what they love instead of forcing them to do stuff they'll never use. Our education system is so out dated. So outdated. Needs to catch up with technology, and what we want the average person to be like. Not shove tedious school work down their throats. With that said you should be able to fail, and kick out problem kids. Parents use school as a baby sitter, and expect teachers to raise their children. I worked with "special behavioral" children. If they are disruptive to the entire class. Don't want to learn. They can be kicked out. Child Left Behind had good intentions. Terrible implementation. Getting rid of the Board of Education, lol. Trump strikes again. He really doesn't know how to fix anything. Just says he does. Then makes it all worse with half baked ideas that aren't thought through. Board of Education needs restructuring. Mofo already talking about raising the price cap of insulin. Now this. He isn't even President yet. Edit. People's debt should also vanish when the Board of Education does then too, by the way. Their rates were predatory to begin with.

  616.  @Jermo7899  This isn't true at all. One - the weather and atmospheric conditions can greatly effect the efficiency of a laser to the point where it will be ineffective at destroying the target in time. Two - as hypersonics become faster and also will eventually have ones that are low flying cruise missiles means a laser system has a lot less time to destroy that target. They aren't instant kills when they hit like Star Wars ya know? You have to be on target until it melts through the missile and damages something important. So there will be a good old fashioned arms race. Lasers will get stronger but bigger and requiring more energy per kill. The more powerful the laser the less time needed to be on target and I am sure we will eventually be networking multiple lasers in a grid or something to be able to focus on one target. Missiles will become faster and faster and probably will benefit from material science and become armored against lasers. Like all armor you sacrifice speed and payload/range for protection. Remember the missile only needs to survive long enough to hit the target. So a terrain following hypersonic missile will have the benefit of being protected by the curative of the earth for much of its flight path unless we start sending lasers into atmosphere which I know we will. Maybe they'll make hypersonic missiles that are like tanks - can't manuever worth a donkeys arse and are super heavy but once flying it takes some explosion of something with mass to bring it down. Add in counter measures like MIRVS and such and it will be a good old fashioned arms race for sure with each system one upping the last. The Navy needs at least a 10mw laser fresken yesterday to protect our giant arse super carriers which will be a large juicy target. Even if we could pump them out training 6,000 men plus the pilots alone is a huge achievement. Takes a lot less effort and resources to create a bunch of hypersonic missiles and launch them over producing a single carrier. Glad we are starting to see the first generation lasers online even though the Styrkers keep getting pushed back for whatever reason but websites say they've been ready. Just a few minor touches... Whatever that means. Anyway hypersonics will not go away any time soon dude i promise you that.

  625. China and Russia would be ay each other throats if America and by extension the West(allies like Japan) were not their biggest threat. Both are ony allies since they know they need someone to back them, and their authortarian governments. They both want the same spheres of infulence in west asia. Both have land disputes which don't seem hot. I do not think either think highly of each other racially or culturally. The thing about this situation is China is bleeding Russia, because Russia has found itsself in a desperate situation economically. China is absolutely the one with all the leverage. China loves that cheap oil, and cheaper resources. (Yeah Russia banned oil exports.) Both want to trade each other products, but specifically Russia. I wonder how much they are trading that aren't on the books. It would be easy for both to fudge numbers. I think this also is a step in a larger plan for China to eventually start growing their own aerospace manufacuring capabilities. As we know China is on the up and up, while Russia doesn't seem to be getting anywhere. It wouldn't suprise me if Russia starts buying or using Chinese aerospace parts or planes once their stolen vehicles become unable to fly. Putin is an idiot for not focusing on keeping his intelligent people home. The Soviets had great scientists and engineers... Most with a brain fled the country, and brought their talent with them. Now he is just sending waves of young adult men to die in mindfields, while getting hammered by Western 155mm.

  672. It isn't even just how hard it is to handle. The corrosion, and leaks are definitely a big part why it is stupid. It is the volumetric density that is the issue. Unless we want massive vehicles with that is all fuel tank. Hydrogens volumetric density is the issue! You can have the most efficent fuel cell you want. The problem is even 500 BAR tanks don't hold a whole lot. Those high pressure tanks are heavy and expensive for saftey reasons so it isn't like you can just go bigger like a rocket. You don't want to skimp on the quality of the construction either since that will kill people randomly. When you factor in the fact that battery tech developing as fast as it is? It makes no sense to try to build everything for hydrogen when EVs can out perform them in every metric. Look at Toyotas offerings. Their cars don't get more range really than an EV. They are heavier than a Model 3, less space inside the vehicle since it is dedicated to holding fuel, costlier, and there is almost zero infrastructure to support it all! Let us not even forget hydrogen cars don't even get the insane HP. They are relatively slow in comparison to a pure EV. I don't know why, because they still use electric motors. Maybe fuel cells just can't unload their stored power like banks of batteries can, I guess. It does blow my mind that a liter of water holds more hydrogen atoms than a liter of PURE LIQUID hydrogen! By a significant amount! Maybe one day we can create some futuristic nano sponge that somehow packs hydrogen atoms into a smaller area, and that takes little energy to release. But until then I just don't see hydrogen being used for anything except niche uses. It is great for space shenanigans.

  675. Crazy so many from CT. My friend and I absolutely saw one late at night when he was bringing me home in Groton CT!

  706. Yeah. I am positive gas stations don't make money off of actually selling gas, but products. Follow their model at the very least. Although I think having it at a diner, fast food joint, Starbucks, or even a grocery store would be optimal. No one wants to sit in some random sketchy parking lot just chilling in their car, twiddling their thumbs or pretending to drive their effin Tesla for 30 minutes. Anywhere you can burn time for 30 minutes or so is best. Get creative. Don't know how people who are much smarter than me thought building JUST a charging station is smart. Welp something needs to be done. Biden, because he is smart. Just passed laws with all the other loonies to give subsidizes to more charging stations. Those incentives should help, because chargers are the only thing holding EVs back. Being a place with too few to no chargers I imagine sucks. Especially if you don't know if you have to wait in line. EVs are already superior in many ways. Can't wait for battery technology to get better. To bad wireless charging at scale isn't possible. Imagine being able to charge just by sitting at a stoplight. I seen electric buses that literally use super capicators to charge at their perspective stops. Was pretty cool. Had an automated connecter that popped up into the socket. Charged as people got on and off, and bam. Off it went. New advances in battery and capacitor tech are only going to make EVs better. Yet it will take work, and money to make such a drastic change seeing our entire civilization basically runs on fossil fuels. It will just take time, effort, and people will adjust or adapt.

  717. They already are economically and environmentally viable. Most people don't need to drive 500 miles non stop daily. Studies already show after 30k miles EVs are better environmentally. Mining technology for rare earths will continue to improve. Places where rare earths were mined were never environmentally friendly anyway. Same type to dump unwanted oil componenets into the environment as well. EVs just can't replace things like long haul trucking. Yet, and that is changing as well. Drivers are only allowed to drive for so long. Yet if they continue to advance with batteries becoming lighter, more battery dense, easier to charge, and safer? It will be within five to ten years before we start seeing long haul. The cost are also dramatically decreasing. Will continue to decrease. They don't need as much maintenence, and charging at home is fractions of the cost. EVs are already superior in unusable performance. They don't need to be as light as an ICE. They don't need to be as energy dense either due to the superiority of the electric motor. When you compare performance cost as far as speed goes EVs aren't much more expensive than ICE. Battery chemistries have already been proven to work that give 750 kwh/kg. Max therotical max known battery technology is lithium air at 12,300 kwh/kg. That is nearly the same as kerosene! The difference between ICE and EVs is that gas is dead in the water as far as improvements. We've basically hit the therotical effiency we can get out of gas. While batteries have and will continue to improve. Solid state batteries just came out this year. If we could just start building graphite for cheaper we could increase the power by nearly 70%. Graphite manufacturing also had some break throughs recently. Anyway we built our whole civilization off fossil fuels. Going to take a bit to change. It won't be a 1:1 change either. It is a different technology, and so there will be changes into how you have to use it.

  772. @Fredbats Racially we are all similar. There might be slight differences medically or biologically between races, but culture is what separates humans the most. Even in the same country. I was told when I was eleven by an older original gangster. He said, "there is a difference between a black man, and a (I will let you finish that sentence in your head. ) or a white man, and white trash." At first I disagreed as I was young, naive, and saw the world in white and black. Then I got older, and realized he was right. Especially since people seem to try very hard to keep stereotypes alive! I don't think what he said was racist anymore. Onto your point. You're right, but I think naturally humans are tribalistic. That civilization has evolved faster than human instinct, and it is natural for us all to find a "tribe". We have just replaced tribes with other types of organization, that is all. Well for the most part as tribes or clans are still very much a thing. What is a nation, but a large tribe? Simon is crazy if he thinks those attacks didn't have race involved. The severity says otherwise. It is like a white nerd walking through the ghetto getting robbed. Sure, they wanted his valuables, but the second he walked into the place he became a target due to his race. If the situation was reversed I don't think Simon would argue that all the attacks would have happened regardless with the severity of some. I also think South Africa is corrupt, and has the benefit of playing down racism to the world. Yet I will believe ex patriots who talk about the countries racism that continues on. Lemme say this about your point as well. One of the only ways humans will unite together, and put away their tribal instinct is it aliens invade the Earth. That instantly would unite most of humanity as far as hatred goes.

1060. I saw a UFO with a friend, but this was back a little after Nokia days so no good camera. What is crazy is I could see the silhouette of it against the night sky but hear NO noise! So either it was fucking massive and high in the air or lower to the ground and completely silent. After a good five minutes it took off like it had two modes. Completely still to over the horizon and hill that was a few miles away within seconds and then it came back in sight because it turned 90 degrees east towards the ocean. It was there and gone within seconds and no man could survive that type of acceleration and turn. I doubt any missile could move that fast. My head could barely keep up. A few years later I was online and said what I had witnessed on a forum. What I saw is called the Tr3b. It is a very common UFO spotted and recorded by people which is interesting. I know I saw it.

1183. @rosewallow2214  One. I know exactly what manifest destiny is. It is totally unrelated to what we are talking about now in modern times isn't it? Honestly you think people were going out west for religion like some great crusade? Then you are quite something else, and have no right to talk about nuance to anyone. People did it for the land its self. You could go out and make your own life, or even try your luck at gold. Using religion as the cherry on top and was a convenient excuse to justify their actions. Capitalism is not created by Protestants work ethic. I won't say protestants didn't have a role to play seeing that our society stems from England, but it seemed from the dissolution of the mercantile class, and the industrial revolution. Again what does the 18th century religious beliefs or capitalism have to do with modern Islam, and its proliferation of violence in modern times? Are you really going to defend them, and other groups like them? Who ever brought race into this anyway? Maybe you should put down Mark Weber books, and actually learn something since Islam is not a race. I'm part NA. Only fools bring up things centuries ago to justify their actions today. People have solid reasons for having a predilection towards disliking Islam. Christianity as a whole at least has attempted to change for the better. Islam seems to be reverting back to worse times. By the way capitalism has uplifted more people in terms of wealth, health,, and food than any other form of socioeconomic government. We also live in the most peaceful time ever.

1267. Yeah. It was dead on arrival. Love or hate him LazerPig has some great view points and makes fantastic points. Long story short - great concept but the chassis was designed around the engine. The engine is archaic and was originally a Nazi WWII design that the Russians then modified in their own after the war. It has always been unreliable and they thought they could improve on it. This is the main reason why it kept getting delayed and they went ahead with the project thinking the new engine would be out. Yet with Russian brain drain after the collapse they can't. They don't have the talent or the necessary manufcaturing capabilities to produce one and specialized tools required for precision engineering is now cut off to them. So they are stuck with a chassis that can only use one engine and that engine sucks. The Chinese tested the Armata and nothing worked. The elecontrics are basically ones we can buy now. Russia doesn't have the capability to produce current gen optics or chips. The gun and unmanned turret are all great concepts with room to upgrade to a 150mm. Good concept. The idea of having everything on a heavy armored platform is not a good idea. Heavier armor means fuel and fuel means more logistics - more trucks and personal to get those supplies to these gas guzzling monstrosities. So it would be a huge weakness if every weapons platform was armored like a tank. Corruption and brain drain really really really caught up to Russia and it is only now we are seeing through it.

1319. Cyber Truck is great for what it was designed for. What are you on about? It is insanely fast compared to regular trucks. Steer, and ride like a dream for a truck. Can haul some gardening soil and groceries, and a love seat. Just suburban lyfe stuff. Has enough off road capability to get to point A to B with the right tires. Can beat sports cars at lights. Sucks at towing due to relying so much on aerodynamics for range. I see no issue as this for a technical in a pinch or a scout if you got one available. The future is hybrids, because they use less fuel, and the electric motor is superior to ICE in every metric just about. How Ryan didn't understand why you'd convert fuel is crazy. Well it is because even Diesels are inefficent. Ryan might not know this, but hybrids literally get more range with the same amount of fuel. They also can run in stealth mode to mask noise and thermal signatures by going on battery only. They are efficent when standing by. The power to weight, and torque is basically unmatched with many motor designs. The regenerative breaking on heavy vehicles is insanely good. Almost every state of the art vehicle is going that way. From some small tankette like drones that is a pure EV to the new Abrams X demonstrator which is a hybrid. Batteries still aren't there yet, but electric motors are insane when it comes to power and weight with the instant, and powerful torque. Slap a small generator in the back with the right connections, and bam. Get more range. PS just to add. DoD is funding things like Liquid Engines X Engine for most likely hybrid use. It is a diesel rotary, and very compact. Issue right now is it can only run 1,000 hours before a rebuild. The hell!

1338. Nothing like end stage liver - when I have too much ammonia in my body I get hepatic encelopathy. The solution? Give me more Lactalose which is a very effective laxative to get rid of the excess. Better then Metamucil. Since an attack usually leaves my muscles in shambles and I can be out for a day or two I can't walk. Poor nurses have to constantly clean. When my kidneys started to totally fail as well it was HELL. After already having like five large movements in the last two hours a third effing volcano came out. It literally was the most horrifying shi¹t imaginable. It got all over the back of my body. I had to lay in it for 40 minutes as it was late at night and only a single nurse was making rounds at the my room. Took her an I a good 45 minutes to clean up. Horrifying. Then the doctors tried jump starting me with IV fluid and a powerful steroid so I was in the ICU amongst other drugs to try to get me to urinate as I already had a gallon or so of fluid in me. I became a effing waterfall at one point and stuck to the kabode as every time I tried walking to the bed it was just like a running facet. Nurse kept asking me to get back on the bed but everytime I got up it just came out. Rinse and repeat. They didn't want to put a cath or whatever for some reason which would have been a lot easier. Felt so bad for the nurses anytime I'm admitted. I always have them drop off piles of those disposable small towels/blankets for a quick change and make sure I get to walking status ASAP. Surprised I didn't die from too much fluid TBH during those stints. I suspect they basically finished my kidneys from the HE episode by putting me into a coma which was not necessary for a few days and not giving me a paracentesis for 4 days even though I had 8.4 liters of fluid in my abdomen.

1348. Add me to the list. My friend and I absolutely saw one late at night when he was bringing me home. Groton CT! Just hope it is on my side regardless of whatever it is.

1358.  @Kalimdor199Menegroth @Kalimdor199Menegroth The entire Kurdish population or Yhugirs would like a word with you. Same with different tribes of Africa. We just don't care. Honestly as far as I'm concerned. Palestine has shown their true colors. They attack their moral enemy. I get that. They are basically at war, and have a blood fued. Isreal is not completely blameless with their heavy handedness, and settling shenanigans. However what do the Palestinians first do when they capture cities, and have a victory? They drag soldiers bodies through the street. They start killing civilians in their homes. Get out their cameras, and gang rape women. Yet violating them in such a brutal manner isn't enough is it? No they cut off the limbs, and decapitate them, and drag their corpses as trophies. They take children, and cut their heads off in front of their mothers. Children damn it. All while praising Allah in fanatical glee. A culture that can produce such monsters? A peolple who produced, fed, housed, and supported them either directly or indirectly. They turn a blind eye to their antics, and hate speech. They try justifying these actions that others made them do it. Well a culture like that gets no pity from me. Some cultures just don't deserve to exist. Better to be assimilated or nationalized. Isreal on the other hand cannot exist as a peaceful country, due to the sheer hate of it just existing. It is an affront to the Arab world. So I understand why they do what they do.

1364. One? There is nothing wrong with high calorie and high protein food. It is the amount people eat. Stop attacking the food; but the habit or frequency. Secondly there is nothing wrong with getting vegetables from sauce. Sauce on its own is literally crushed vegetables FFS.They give you apple sauce in the hospital. Sauces, and condiments sometimes have too much calories. Give the kid a vitamin if you're worried about nutrition anyway. Or feed them something else when at home, and everyone has time to cook or prepare a meal. Me? When I was a kid I wish I was rich enough to get a pizza lunchable daily. Better then the bad apple you guys seem to feel the need to shove down peoples throats. Yeah let us produce food kids will just toss. That is the spirit! Surely will help the earth. It will be organic with no preseveratives so that way it will take extra resources, and not last long as long too! Tremendous thinking there. Just because something is processed does not mean it is inherently unhealthy. Lunchable pizza have helped me tremendously this year. I'm dying from Liver and Kidney disease without a transplant. No appetite, and always puking when I tried eating. Well earlier this year I found out my body could handle pizza lunchables. (The non kids one without desert or drinks). I do not know why, but my body would not reject it. One apple, and one lunchable, 90٪ whey isolate, and 2 ounces of Kefir changed my life around. Eating something high in calories and protein is better then not eating at all. I already will feel for your kids. They are going to be the kids that snuck junk food since they never got it, and struggled with obesity the second they became adults since they were never taught how to balance their diet.

1388. 2 was the biggest surprise to me. Now the information was gathered by defectors who were close to the inner circle of Putin but it totally painted a different picture of him. The man is basically a hermit who gets spoon fed by pyschophants and only watches Russian Media which surprise - tells him what he wants to hear. I have no doubts he really thought Ukraine would see him as liberators. That NATO was really going to attempt to invade - which is nuts... As we see NATO is a wet noodle... There was no country on earth who seriously considered invading Russia because of MAD. Yet his information is so biased that he really didn't know how corrupt it was. The money WAS suppose to go to things but when everyone and anyone is either looking the other way from the top down? All the reports say "we are in great shape! We did what we were told" - you get 2022 Russia... A paper tiger. The age of the equipment doesn't bother me but the condition. People still don't know if their damn missiles and such are failing due to technical lies or poor maintenence. Makes me real nervous seeing as they have thousands upon thousands of nukes that absolutely require expensive upkeep to be useful and not cause accidents. Anyway this war is for some man who wanted to leave a damn legacy. Putin should have sat back and watch the West destroy its self. Instead he galvanized his enemies and they are stronger than ever. Russia is Russias worse enemy. This "NATO made me do it" is ridiculous. Should have just invested in his own damn people. Starting with world class education and fixing the specialized manufacturing situation which is also expensive. Make Russia look appealing for foreigners and for Russians to have kids.

1473. @Shako_Lamb  Certain old houses can have a lot of toxic random things in them as well. Heavy metals/asbestos. Some places like my town are pretty strict on what you can do when you buy the historic houses. My boss tried getting one to split into a restaurant down stairs. Town played along then said no the house cannot be modified like that. The list of what she can do was pretty short just period. Lots of houses will be kept up, simply because they are considered historical. Anyway yeah of course poor people like me will save onto their old stuff! My house needs so much electrical/heating work as the boiler quit. Just can't fix anything as I became ill. So we do what we can. When I say survivorship bias. I'm talking about the people who think all the old stuff is so superior. They routinely are only focused on the touristy buildings really. Or ones whove had work and care put into it. Ones suffering from the Ship of Thesis question, lol. (Is it an old house when the entire inside has been remodeled). They don't think of all the slums, and ghettos that use to be. The decrypted apartments too unsafe to keep before regulations. Ones that burnt down. They completely ignore the ugly crappy buildings that were built. Or don't think of things like 1780 out houses, and tiny cabins. I've only seen a handful of red brick buildings I liked. Matter of taste though. Just ugh, really guys? Put up a facade, or cheap siding even. Hah, JP. With that said. What really bugs me about modern buildings is we have the tech to make them super insulated, safe, and durable. Ones that can generate, and store power! Then you got developers making entire neighborhoods of such crappy quality. Yet I would still argue overall we make much better things for more people. I forgot what we were talking about. I'm out of it so sorry Head of time, but hope anyone reading this has an amazing New Year's. Cheers.

1476. Batteries aren't fusion tech always twenty years away. Battery tech IS improving. A lot. Year in and out. It is insane. Maybe you're young and don't realize it. I am 40, and it is crazy how much they've come along in my life. We have solid state batteries now in production. We have batteries now that can last a million kilometers. We have energy storage batteries. Many new batteries ARE coming out of the lab. It just takes time to get into sufficient production. Some are simply too expensive at the moment for consumer stuff, but the price is going down tremendously. The potential for batteries isn't even touched. We can therotically have batteries ten to twenty times the current average in power density. This video has strawman. One, the main resources in batteries are not that rare. America has the most lithium deposites that can last us 1k years. No scientist agrees that we will run out of these resources anytime soon especially when we can now recycle 90% of our lithium ion batteries. Hell even the icean has lithium that some companies are trying right now to learn to refine. I think some test facilities are in the works. Mining is as dirty as the country it is stemming from. Those countries are notorious for dirty practices, and no environmental regulations. We let them mine it as why not? They can do it cheaper. People act like the oil industry isn't basically the biggest environmental disaster of the past century. Or act like the gas industry doesn't use rare metals in refining or usage. Look at what catalytic converters alone consume. Battery tech is awesome. I hope to see an actual exoskeleton before I die. Energy is holding that back. Future is bright. Electric motors are superior. Batteries just need to catch up.

1516. Nothing is truly green. The fact they blow ICE out of the water performance wise, with the exception of top speeds that are basically lap car only. What is funny is even after everything you listed. Report after report says EVs are greener. Cobalt is being phased out, and isn't used in many EVs. Chemicals? Yeah, because drilling and refining oil is SOOO clean? To produce the lithium needed for a 64 kWh battery pack, for example, Fichtner stated that about 3840 liters of water are evaporated according to usual calculation methods. This is roughly comparable to the production of 250 grams of beef, 30 cups of coffee, or half a pair of jeans, according to the researcher. Mining is getting better too. One of the issues specifically with lithium was WHO was mining it. China and Chille don't really have or follow regulations, and didn't care. Now that countries who do care about their backyards are going to be mining for these materials. Expect the cost environmentally to drop. Especially with so many researchers getting funding from both private and governments for better, and more efficient practices. Let us not mention EVs already last 100k more miles. Some say the EVs made today can double that before the battery isn't practical. Mind you these metals can also be recycled. You cannot recycle burnt gas! EVs are the future. In five to ten years even semis will be using them. Oh let us not forget the geopolitical and security nenefits of decoupling from gas countries like Russia and the Middle East.

1525. AI allowing anyone to program, video games, music without years of training is a good thing. Some of you hate AI, because it will make your labor irrelevant. Which is a good thing. I don't want to hire people to do labor when I do not have to. Nearly all these studies he listed are studying peoples lack of skills on... Newly outdated skills? It doesn't matter how you get to the destination as long as you made it there quicker, and safely. Why are scientist judging people on old skills is beyond me. Perhaps we should also do studies on if people can farm or hunt small game since those skills were important back in the day too. What is the difference between a teen asking AI for advice once it becomes good over their friends? You all do not remember your friends terrible advice back in school? Not every kid even has smart guardians to ask. Then last but not least. The law is so damn convoluted it is criminal. It is criminal we need to pay specialist who went to school for years just to be able to defend ourselves. AI lawyers will give power back to the poor. Again once kinks work out. Will future lawyers on average be dumber due to it? Yeah, because you don't need to be a special person in order to be successful. In my opinion. Medical advances are ruining the gene pool, and the future will be closer to Gataca once we start enhancing people genetically. Unless the ludite conservatives win. Consumerism isn't why people are becoming dumber. It has been around for a long time. Social media, lack of education on critical thinking skills, misinformation, and the rise of anti intellectuals is the issue. Parents letting their kids watch Tate or the Paul Brothers, or Kardashians . The world is changing so fast we don't know how to keep up. Laws, and advice on how to handle it are non existent. Our culture was not prepared. Founding Fathers had no idea about the incoming tech, and didn't think free fpeech would allow politicians puppeted by billionaires to lie 24/7 over a thing we held in our hand. So I'm blaming those. Our education needs to teach critical thinking skills over memorization in an ever changing world with zero experience to pull from, and laws governing misinformation need to be put into place. You all can blame Nike, and Temu ads.

1597.  @krazytroutcatcher Some of you are partying like it is 1999 still, or some of you think that Smart Phones are new technology, hah. EVs are here if you haven't noticed. The thing about batteries? They are getting cheaper, safer, charge faster, getting lighter, and holding more power. Then compared to fuel cells they will give more power, and have lower volumetric density then hydrogen. Oh EVs are safer in crashes, and so much more reliable than the ICE. Less maintence too. Sure they burn worse, but they also catch fire less. Burning is burning. ICE is dead in the water. You'll need more and more complicated crap to get any miniscule improvement. We have solid state batteries coming out which are a leap toward. Then lithium Air chemistry is the future, and will have the potential to be ten to fifty times better than current batteries as I write this. Oh with pure EVs? If you had the money you can charge off the grid at your home. No need to worry about gas stations running out of gas every time some disaster might happen. Or gas prices going up daily. There are people with solar trailers who will go camping, hunting, and fishing and charge their vehicle in the sun while they fish all day. Also if you guys think mining and battery companies are somehow more evil then oil and hydrogen companies? Well you're smoking some of that good stuff, because they are ALL greedy and ALL want all of your money. By the way lithium is everywhere. Mining it is also getting easier and less of a hazard. There are companies working on extracting it from sea water. But hey don't buy an EV. Personally I like them because they blow ICE out of the water. I dont need to drive 10 hours straight daily without breaks like apparently you guys do. Will be blowing by you guys in your ICE soon.

1603.  @SebastianRosca The military disagrees. You are absolutely right that 28nm chips can do most of the jobs, but it isn't ideal. Having smaller more powerful chips are amazing for the upcoming tech. Why? EW, sensors, and radar amongst AI, AI wingman, and especially drones. The amount of information being processed by even more powerful sensors will be astounding, and you'll need a more powerful chip for all the data while keeping total packaging small. Also they use less power too. Sams goes for EW suites. The USAF is pushing hard for AI Wingman to fly that are superior to human pilots. That will require an insane computer to run, and keep cool. The future is small drones that can fly autonomously together navigating the world in formation, all while taking information in for targetting. Working together as one to identify those targets, and the best way to destroy them. I don't have to type why miniaturization of chips is a good thing for that. You'll need smaller, but more importantly lighter chips for them to fly further with more space dedicated to payload. Then at home you have huge super computers for research and development. For information gathering. Also more precise navigation is possible with faster chips which is a good thing when GPS gete knocked out by brute forcing. Anyway I can keep going on. Remember miniaturizing helps ALL the advanced technologies like sensors and radar. It isnt just CPUs that benefit. So Russia is years behind, and just had an extraordinary amount of brain drain happen. Millions of educated people with the cash left the country at the start of the war, and during the draft. It is actually insane, because they already had a huge demographic issue. Speaking of that. Fun fact. During the 80s over 25 to as high as 40% of Soviets tax revenue came from VODKA depending on source. Their death rate is extremely high due to alcoholism during the Soviet era where the average citizen spent 20-40% of their paycheck in Vodka. When the Soviets tried to cut people off? They lost that portion of their budget, straining the economy even worse, and some say that was a good part to why the Soviet Union collapse! It got worse after the collapse. After that the Russua federation tried to do something again, but the citizens turned to worse drugs. So they stopped it in the 2010s. Look up Polymatters video on Russias population decline. Just watched it. It was interesting as I didn't realize how bad it was.

1609. Old eugenics? Yes! Absolutely! They tried using science to prove whites were superior, lol. So it has a nasty connotation. New/Neo Eugenics is the modern school of thought we should use genetic engineering to improve the genepool, and humans. Target certain genetic disorders, and things like allergies at first. Outright make superior humans second. Basically modify someone before and after birth. Medical advances have let people reproduce when they probably would not have. It is a great thing, but they are spreading certain disorders like it or not. Or gene pool is being degraded. We all have inhereted something not so good right? Well with GE we can eventually change that. Neo eugenics thinks we should fix any negative condition we can, and improve the gene pool. I think genetic engineering is the future of humanity anyway. (Including nano tech, and cybernetics.) So I am liberal, and I am for neo eugenics if it matters. Elon just seems like an outright racist, and Nazi. PS. Neo Eugenics is all about making humans healthier, smarter, and stronger. It really has nothing to do with the political or societal impacts. (Or shouldnt. ) Yet people hear the word eugenics, and link it to Nazis. Well no one should force it on others. At the same time, it is for all races, and people's. We just need to make it affordable to everyone. Personally please sign me up for genetic engineering testing to live longer, be smarter, or stronger! I'll take the chance if there is like even a 10% chance ill regress back into a salamander.

1633.  @urusaiinu   @urusaiinu  What started the habit? I'm sort of the opposite. Short of drinks and sour candy/deserts food was mainly sustenance. I was rarely someone who would eat something just because it is there and tasty. I also naturally was always a intermittent faster by default. Wouldn't eat till much later in the day as food made me sluggish. Didn't eat healthy but ate a lot and people were always amazed that I wasn't fat. Every girl I've been with gained weight due to my eating habits. It was bizarre how many calories I was burning compared to them and I do believe in faster metabolism. I am-was a very wired dude. Yeah it wasn't till my liver started failing before I had to change diet and really start paying attention to everything. Now my kidneys are blasted too so doubly so as I can OD on a lot of vitamins and minerals. I started reading at first about how to enhance flavor as I have to limit salt and that brought me into the science of food and how it interacts. It is super interesting especially with how 21 amino acids are responsible for so much. I am restricted to 24 ounces of liquid a day. Ugh it is the worse thing about dying. Ironic really that drinking is why I'm dying and I will die thirsty. If I ever get a transplant the first thing I'm doing is chugging a gallon of chocolate milk haha. Nectar of the gods! PS: I just tried Fairlife whole milk. Easy on the gut and has 13g of protein and less sugar(personally wish it had the same as Lactaid Protein as I'm losing 30 cals per cup). I probably couldn't tell it from regular milk in a blind taste test! Give it a try as it is possibly the best drink ounce per ounce that isn't a nutritonal supplement or meal replacement. Wish I liked fat. Been hard getting fat into my diet. Why is all the good tasting yogurt fat free damn it.

Hell on earth at my dose and you withdrawal weeks upon weeks.) I actually sort of got lucky in a fucked up way when I quit alcohol ‐ decided to quit as I was at 1 liter of vodka a day. Took my last shot and went in and was brought to the ER. Told I had just days to live ‐ that's how bad I was. I had a minor surgery on my anus, and later that day I ruptured the stitches and nearly bled out. For the next few weeks I was in an out of consciousness and can hardly remember stuff outside at times I was hallucinating and would see animals running back and forth. Being so sick and on on so much medication I couldn't really focus on anything else if that makes sense. It will be a year come May. Please quit before you become like me. My kidneys ended up failing in September and dying isn't the worse part of the disease. Its the fact I can't fucking drink anything really as I'm on severe liquid restrictions. Only 16ounces a day! God if I ever get a liver and kidney transplant the first thing I'm doing is drinking a large vanilla milk shake till I get brain freeze. I'm going to blind taste different waters. Try all sorts of juices. The only thing I won't drink is alcohol. It SUCKS that I cannot create my own urine. All the liquid goes into my abdomen and I have to get it pumped every 10 days ‐ was 5Liters a week but new treatment has lowered it. It's ironic isn't it... Drinking is what was the last nail for me. And I will die a very thirsty man.

1663. Fighting your enemy? I'm not pro war, but I get it. It is a sad truth about human nature. All cultures surviving today, have done so through blood and conquest. I get the fued too. People are born into the cycle of hate, and both sides have done things to perpetuate it. Isreal is not completely blameless in this cycle. Yet the the first thing Hamas does after taking over the cities? They take their cameras, and start showing their victory by desecrating corpses. Standing over the corpses, and firing into the air wasn't enough to fill their blood last. Oh no no- they have to drag them through the street with ecstatic fervor while shouting praises to Allah. They then video tape themselves gang raping women. Then cutting off their heads and limbs just to drag them through the street. Like the utter violation before their death wasn't enough. They are taking anyone who isn't Palestinian, and keeping them hostage. Most likely to be killed. Then the worse is that they are killing children. I don't have a single ounce of pity or remorse for Palestinians anymore. They apparently have a culture where these acts are okay if it is your enemy. They have raised, fed, housed, and supported people who have this in them. They probably have encouraged it or looked the other way as well. And you know what? I can't say I'm 100% shocked by such acts from them. There is no justification that will sway my opinion. The people of Palestine have showed their true colors, and I hope those colors and flag never rise again after Isreal is done with their retribution. I wish I wasn't agnostic. That way a part of me would believe these people would get their dues in this life or the next.

1886. Minimal cost? You act like you can put hydrogen in your gas tank, hah. High pressure tanks of 700 BARS plus are expensive, bulky, can't be formed into different shapes, and still carry something like 22 liters... Then you have the cost of infrastucture. Yeah have fun going from power plant, hydrogen plant, shipping hydrogen to station, vehicle going to station, then using hydrogen. Instead of just power plant to vehicle. Hell people can use their own solar or wind to power their cars. People already have solar trailers towed by their trucks to power their vehicles while camping. Can hook up power tools to them too or use them as a generator with some of the new EV trucks. Then you have the electrical strain on the grid which will be MUCH worse. Hydrogen takes a ton of electricity at the moment to separate it from water. If people think billions of EVs will be a problem on the grid. Then Hydrogen will be double the strain at least! Batteries are rapidly progressing. Hydrogen is stuck by physical limitations by physics. There will never be a solution to hydrogens volumetric density problems, and fuel cells will never be as efficient as batteries to motors. Companies have recently made lithium air batteries. Those will be ten to fifty times better then the batteries we have today. Solid state batteries are coming out this year. Batteries will become quicker to charge, be more power dense, lighter, and safer. There is no real infrastructure for hydrogen, and there will probably never will be. It will be a niche product. Which sucks. I wanted hydrogen to succeed. Until I learned the physical limitations, and theoretical limits. I still cross my fingers for some science break through with space age magic nano tech. Fun fact about hydrogen. Water holds more hydrogen in a given volume by a ton compared to just pure liquid hydrogen! Doesn't make sense.

1903. I am a liberal mutt. Part native American, and also don't agree. Honestly people who destroy history are ignorant, naive, and just wrong. I can't really grasp the words at the moment yet it is nearly hypocritical. We are all descendants of conquerors. We all have blood from our ancestors hands whether you like it or not. There is not one culture left alive today that didn't expand through conquest, rape, burning, pillaging, and of course murdering. We should look at them not with pride. Yet look at them and realize how far we have progressed. Destroying history is a bad idea as we often repeat it when we forget it. Statues last a lot longer than human memory does that is for certain. I doubt few people look at a statue of Lee and say, "Ah yes. This statue was built for him due to owning slaves." The statue was built as he was a damn good general and held off the more powerful Union time after time. Even though he was an enemy of "my side" I can still respect that aspect of him while denouncing slavery as a whole. As for slavery? Few cultures didn't have it. Why don't we ever bring up the fact black people were also making fortunes off slavery as well. Many African tribes would go to war, and sell captured enemies to Europeans. The biggest hurdle to the black community in America are themselves today. Everyone knows it yet it isn't politically correct to say that. Native Americans? My people were warriors - they weren't some peace loving hippies living one with nature. They were murdering each other, and scalping bitches way before any white men came. We fought and we lost mainly due to disease, and the fact we weren't united. It happened over a century ago - need to stop blaming Europeans for our current situation too. White people are also guilty for guilt tripping. Your ancestors did what most civilizations do - grow up. We need to start thinking of the future without forgetting the past. What matters is how we act today and tomorrow. If a statue triggers you then go see a therapist since you are obviously emotionally damaged. Are you so much of a snowflake you cannot handle the truth?

1923.  @KlausBahnhof Isn't that guy a shill with ties to Chinese companies? If you're looking for shore defense. Why even get any submarine? Just use missiles and air power at that point. The French deal was crap by the end. They actually did offer an option for nuclear.. However there were technnology transfer disputes. French were being greedy. Most important by the end of it they were trying to build the entire submarine themselves, and wouldn't deliver till 2035. At first 90% of the sub was to be built. Then 60%. Then they literally said Australias ship industry was not up to par. The Ukraine War has shown it is important for a country to have their own manufacturing base when it comes to defense. Geopolitics can a change swiftly, and you'll be left standing with equipment you cannot maintain or build yourself. Plus propping up your own industry with high well paying jobs is a bonus people forget. Diesel Submarines are garbage at anything other than protecting close by. They are stealthier, but sacrifice a lot. Seeing that there are no enemies near Australia? Just makes more sense to go nuclear. Or else like I said better yet to invest in land based stand off anti ship missiles and beef up the airforce. I'm glad Australia did the deal. I don't want to see the CCP dominating the world, and the US can't hold back those lying, manipulative, thieving sewer oil drinking pseudo communists. Chinese are the type to take all the candy in a bucket at Halloween when they are adults, and don't celebrate it.

1952. Yeah if your body craves something it usually means you are in need of it. Like truly craving it which is hard to explain because you can be addicted to something like sugar. I'm terminally ill with stage 4 liver and kidney disease. Months ago I was craving pickles. Normal for a pregnant woman but salt is very bad for people with this disease so I shouldn't eat it as it is found in all food. I was extremely ill with GI issues as they go hand and hand with liver disease. At first I thought it was salt but my salt was normal but I was suffering from severe GERD too and acidic things don't help acid reflex. We will get to that later. Well I did and went on a pickle craze for a few months. Turned out it was most likely the lactaid acid - my body had very low PH which is dangerous to me. I can get both metabolic alkalosis and acidosis. Both are terrible and dangerous! Feels like you are dying with no fever... Anyway eventually I stopped getting that and stopped craving pickles. Also I am on an anti biotic daily and been in for severe SBP which can kill in 48 hours. Put me near death multiple times last year so my gut microboime was a wreck from the slew of antibiotics I'd be on anytime I was admitted. Yogurt then Kefir fixed MOST of my GI problems within a week when no amount of medication helped. Back to salt. Well I was following the no salt and absolutely little potassium diet that I was told to do once my kidneys failed. So from September to May I was sort of stable but still getting very ill randomly and couldn't gain weight or strength. First I found out they were severely dehydrating me during dialysis as they weren't taking my ascities into account for weight. Also turns out I was critically low on potassium! Luckily for me I met a doctor who said -you're going to die if you don't get a transplant and you need to eat to do that. Don't worry about the salt in bacon as you need protein and fat! So I never was super strict on salt which is why I was only just low on it . However some days I would crave it and just eat a pinch of a pinch. Potassium on the other hand dialysis kept telling me that they will give me some. But they only test my blood near an end of a treatment when they are giving me potassium. Basically in between treatments I was running critically low and since its hard to eat since I'm dying - I don't get enough from food. So for the longest time I would crave something and cramp dangerously at night. Wasn't dehydrated... Salt didn't do the trick but close... A month ago I remembered I had Nu Salt and gave the ingredients a second look - I thought it had phosphorous in it which I do struggle with so it has been sitting there since my liver diagnoses. Well it is actually just potassium chloride! Sure enough when I get that craving a pinch of a pinch will curb it! It also has helped with the cramp although they still happen. Like he said a charlie horse sucks especially at night time. Anyway sorry for the long post. Remember listen to your bodies! PS as for hydrating. Skim milk is better than water for a healthy person!

2051. Exactly. Yeah let us give our kids food that they won't eat. One? There is nothing wrong with high calorie and high protein food. It is the amount people eat. Stop attacking the food; but the habit or frequency. Secondly there is nothing wrong with getting vegetables from sauce. Sauce is literally crushed vegetables FFS. They give you apple sauce in the hospital. Sauces, and condiments have a ton of calories, and nutrition sometimes too. Give the kid a vitamin if you're worried about nutrition anyway. Or feed them something else when at home, and everyone has time to cook. Me? When I was a kid I wish I was rich enough to get a pizza lunchable daily. Better then the bad apple you guys seem to want to shove down peoples throats. Yeah let us produce food kids will just toss. That is the spirit! Surely will help the earth. It will be organic with no preseveratives so that way it will take extra resources, and not last long as long! Great thinking. Lunchable pizza have helped me tremendously this year. I'm dying from Liver and Kidney disease without a transplant. No appetite, and always puking when I tried eating. Well earlier this year I found out my body could handle pizza lunchables. (The non kids one without desert or drinks). I do not know why, but my body would not reject them. One apple, and one lunchable, plus 90٪ protein, and 2 ounces of Kefir changed my life around. Eating something high in calories and protein is better then not eating at all. I already will feel for your kids. They are going to be the kids that snuck junk food since they never got it, and became fat rhe second they became adults since they were never taught how to balance their diet.

2079. I hate both the pro EV and anti EV crowd. Fossil fuel to power plant to EV will always be more efficent. He purposely skipped that I feel like as he rarely misses anything. There are so many steps for us to get gas in our cars which are only 25٪ efficent. EVs eliminate a lot of those steps for one, and power plants are much more efficent at using the Fossil Fuel we do pull. Renewable power only became cheaper recently, and newer technologies promise to lower those numbers even further. So expect that number to rise sharply for any new power generation. So of course the number is low at the moment, but expect that to rise as needed. Third the grid needs an overhaul already. So it already needs money regardless, and beefing it up with newer technologies to handle the influx of EVs isn't a giant leap. If everyone in America drove an EV today? We would need around 35% increase in power generation which is not a small number. Luckily for us no one is asking for us to hand in the keys today. The reason why it makes sense to get off ICE is due to efficiency on how we use that fuel. No it won't be totally green, but some will. Batteries are getting cheaper, hold more charge, charge faster, getting lighter, use less harmful resources, and taking less space. Lithium Air chemistry which has recently been cracked has the potential to be 10 to 50 times better for kwh/kg. That is enough to make electronic planes for anything, but intercontinental flight possible. ICE is pretty much maxed out and won't be getting significantly better. I would like to see series hybrids for niche applications and military. Oh and gas for intercontinental flights.

2144.  @Chris-hx3om Let us get one thing straight. EVs are better than ICE after 30k miles. They last over 100k miles longer with projections of the newest batteries lasting as long as 500k through a million miles. They require fewer parts for maintenence. While also having a majiority of their parts recyclable. These numbers will improve. Secondly. We are a capitalist society. So when people say, "Yeah but we only have X much lithium" and won't have enough! They are using today's numbers are not projecting new production which every majior country is currently looking to secure. None of the rare earths in batteries are really rare with the exception of cobalt which is being phased out. Nor do they have to be mined with such disdain for the environment. When you look at environmental studies today they are using data collected from countries like Chilie and China- countries that pollute like mad. As countries like America start producing the numbers will be better. So as the technology for mining, and manufacturing improves so will those data numbers. This is also true for power. People like to say how will we power it all? Well in the last 20 years? 7 of those had power demand FALLING until 2022. So why would we be making more power if there wasn't demand for it? Why would power companies invest when the grid was good enough for current demand? Again we are a capitalist society. So power companies are already building more infrastructure Wind is also the cheapest source of new energy production. Solar may follow suit pretty soon with Pervoskite cells that you literally can print for cheap. People also like to say renewables cannot be baseline power. That is equivocally incorrect - renewables plus batteries can do it, and energy storage is dropping like a freaken rock. In fact power companies love energy storage/batteries now. It is making them a ridiculous amount of money. I bet that study also didn't include factors like the cost of getting gas to you. With all that said the world is screwed. I'm for EVs simply because they are faster by far on practical roads.

2186. @IsaacKuo     Oh I assumed it already had a camera the operator saw through. What MCLOS system you guys talking about? Blowpipe? Pretty sure there has been a few MCLOS systems over the past century. Yeah that is ridiculous trying to hit a god damn plane with controlling a missile with a third person perspective. Sims are aweeome. If I were command I'd have all plane/vehicle crews in em as much as possible in the most realistic sims I could buy. Sims, and realistic video games are amazing for training. Each day those crews who perform the best get 50$ Applebees gift cards. That will surely motivate the average American soldier. Anyway yeah I thought MCLOS was camera operated. This reminds me when I was like 11 in late 90s, maybe a bit older. I wanted an RC Helicopter. We go to this nice Hobby/Model/toy store where the owner asked my mom what we needed. We told him a helicopter. He asked my mom how much she made, which is odd. She was honest, and he basically told me not to get the 500$ helicopter, but 200$ plane since I would surely break the helicopter on the first day. (He said everyone does) Of course within 10 years toy helicopters were like 20$, and flew themselves. Anyway what a dumb idea. It is so hard to judge aircrafts movements in the sky sometimes, especially if there is nothing to help differentiate the distances or heading. My friend and I saw a UFO. If it didn't go from hovering in place for 5 minutes to taking off like a bullet with zero acceleration, and Gs no human piloted aircraft could survive. I would have guessed it being a helicopter. (Later found out by others we probably saw what is called the Tr3-B.)

2339. I was considered as good as dead in 2022 when I went to go quit drinking for about 4 years. Before then I drank a handful times a year. I went from drinking wine as a server with guests. To a glass of wine to be better at my job, to a glass sleeping. Or when stressed. That placed closed. So then I eventually switched to a shot of vodka. Covid hit while I worked at a pharmacy, and I got supet sick from that. No gloves or mask! Anyway eventually had enough went to quit. Was sent from the detox to the ER where I was told I had basically days or a week max to live. After a year of being in the hospital I got out. Can't beleive I celebrated 2025. I was a functional alcoholic till about the last year. Mind you I did drink a lot for my body weight by the end with a liter of vodka a day chasing it with box wine. Drinking isnt worth it. I generally beleived I only had some damage, and I could drink for twenty years as I've known many alcoholics. I use to hate doctors. Now it is a full time job seeing em. All the symptoms I self medicated for are worse with many new ones. My liver disease caused my kidneys to fail. My organ failure is putting stess on my cardiovascular. I cannot work due to issues like dangerous blood pressure. I do not urinate. I do not like food, and it is a struggle to eat. Most of all I am like an eldery patient now, and broke. Dying is expensive. I am useless to others, and still need help sometimes. With that said I am greatful to be alive even if it is a pathetic existence. I didnt care when the doctors told me the news. I rolled with. Yet seeing my mom get the news that day will forever scar me for being such a selfish prik. Could not even hug her saying it would be alright. Heck for the longest time I was too weak to get on a transplant list. Doctors have no idea why I am alive. I am exceedingly told it was rare for anyone to survive, and somehow improve. Listen to me. There are better ways. Alcohol is not the cause of your problems. It is your off the shelf treatment to deal with your problems. Find a doctor or help that can guide you. You really gotta search. Lots of bad ones, but finding good ones is life changing. I use to think I was the healthiest as I worked the hardest, and longest. Nah, I worked my body into the ground.

2454.  @svr5423  Sorry about the other post. I couldn't see the read more as it loaded blank at first, and now I can't see my comment to delete it. What do you mean we had lithium batteries since the 90s? Yeah, and the first transistor was made in 1947. What does that mean? Technology improves. I can't link any, but if you look at battery density, weight, and cost charts. Everything is improving dramatically. We already have 750kwh/kg batteries coming, and solid state batteries in production cars this year. While volumetric density for hydrogen is not improving. Is it? Can't beat physics. That is my issue. Charging times are improving significantly. Batteries can charge in around 25 minutes now, so 20 minutes longer without the fear of leaking. You know what I see when I go outside? A power grid! I don't see hydrogen infrastructure anywhere. I can also charge at home. Charge with a solar panel, or wind. I can charge for pennies on the dollar. Thing is pure EVs are just good enough for 80% of the population already, and give it five years for batteries to be good enough for other applications. Cost plus infrastructure is what holds most people from buying an EV right now. Hydrogen has no infrastructure at all, and costs way more to run, and maintain, and purchase. So basically all you have here is some weight and time to fuel up. Yet WEIGHT! ✋ The weight part isn't even true.. The Toyota Mirai weighs 4,335lb, and the Tesla Model 3 weighs 3,528lb, and Model S 4,766lb. That is with way less total cargo space by the way. So uh, my original point stands. I don't know about you, but 50% or more of my vehicles space being taken up is just stupid. Let us not forget how dumb it is to turn electricity into hydrogen just to transport it twice, to and fro, then get it just to turn it back into electricity.

2497.  @PricelessLime  When did Eric actually threaten Terrence. Better yet what did he say exactly? Genuine question. I watched most of the Podcast till I stopped after being tired of Terrence whining that math was wrong, and wasn't understood. When he in fact was the problem was just him either not explaining his ideas. (which I think may have been an excuse at times. Other times legitimate.. Or that he was the one who didn't want to listen or understood. I did see some of the clips of the so called threats, but after further investigation it really wasn't. More like allegories on Eric's part. Funnily enough Eric was misunderstood for sure too. He doesn't seem like a good teacher at all. Think he forgot Terrence wasn't some PHD student taught by Academia. His multiplying explanation was so overly complicated it was mind boggling. Anyway I only watched like 55-70%. So I could be wrong. I think Eric did a phenomenal job trying his best to make work of Terrence. His patience infinitely better than 99% of what any expert in any field would deal with - when basically an armchair amateur comes in trying reinvent the wheel saying an entire school of thought for centuries is wrong. Saying the greats before him are wrong. I mean I find it very far fetched anything Terrence said will unlock anything. Again I think he should make some experiments to prove some of the math. Even Einstein wasn't god like famous till people started proving his theories. While he released special relativity in like 1905. Then released his followup General Theroy. It wasn't till 1919 till Sir Eddington famously proved it during an eclipse with an experiment using gravitational lensing with light being bent.

2516. In Groton CT?

2608. Trust me people have done stupid things long before TikTok! We are just lucky or unlucky enough to have it easily accessible all over the internet! I'm so glad I was born when I was. Just on the cusp of everybody having a camera in their pocket when I was a stupid teen. Thankfully the stupid crap my friends and I did aren't online forever. Would be nice to have some memories though. One time I did Dramamine with a friend. Like the whole package each j believe.. It makes you not hallucinate but delirious - a very important distinction which we did not appreciate as we were experienced in tripping. Long story short we went get more because we did not feel it. Yet we kept walking towards his house and then start walking to the store to back to his house... them we split off from each other when he went to go piss. I waited for an hour before some black guy who might not have been real came out with a bat. I told him I was waiting for a friend but ill walk. I walked home instead and when I got home I saw ticks on me! So I picked them me for hours with tweezers and dug deep gashes all aound my skin and saw a bunch of crazy shit. My friend did not make it home. Next day I get worried and his mom calls and I finally admitted what we did. His dad picked me up and go looking for him. I see my jacket on the dumpster in this apartment complex and we find a line of clothes leading to someone's apartment balcony. So we stop and yell- he hears us and is in the woods. His dad goes in like super man and comes out carrying his butt ass naked 18yo son covered with wounds. My friend walked through a huge pricker field naked and woke up in it and couldn't get out. Had thousands of cuts all over his body. We both lived though so there's that but hard lessons learned. Just thought I'd share. Will only trip on peyote or mescaline now but that is rare as hell.

2734.  @jjjr.1186  I didn't say China had more resources. I said they have enough resources with the exception of oil. They have rare earths locked down at the moment. Most of what you said is true. Like I said China will over match us in the future at this rate. Look at the rate they are pumping out platforms to counter us. It isn't even comparable at all. The number of stealth jets will over take us soon, and you realize that right? Their supply chains are efficent. Purposed built. Ours are not, and scattered. Our Military industrial Complex is inefficient compared to theirs. Especially when they keep stealing designs. Again the cost parity IS leagues different. Ours is focused on profit. Nickle and diming us. Chinas is focused on production. They are pumping out versions of their own much faster for less, period. It doesn't have to be better. Just good enough or not trash. War is a also a numbers game, especially when you have to cross an ocean to attack. The CCP can swivel on a dime. Force workers to do what they want without bureaucracy. They are not spending billions in military conflicts over seas. Much of our weapons goes to our allies. They have over a billion more people. Their schools are expanding, and are doing better. I'm sorry, but it is people like you who underestimate China, and the reason we will lose. They are catching up fast. If their long range missiles perform as they claim. Then US carriers can't even attack China without being vulnerable to getting hit themselves. US power is waining, because we aren't focused. China for all its woes does not have this issue. They are catching up very very very fast. I give it ten years, especially when our companies care more for profit then anything else.

2805. I was just talking about price grouging in the defense industry. It is insane honestly how a Stinger can cost more even if you include inflation. Or what some parts cost that can be made much cheaper for the same quality. We should be able to produce them and other technologies for Wal Mart prices damn it. How does decades old tech get more expensive? We are going to lose to China. We cannot compete with their sheer numbers. Their military gets more for each dollar spent. They pay their soldiers and vets much less. The contractors bend to the government, and not the other way around. If you actually compare purchasing power parity I think it is called - America and China actually spending similar amounts. America needs FOCUS. We need to stop being greedy or else Russia and China will win this cold war. Do not underestimate China as they will surely surpass us in ways, and some say they already have. One key strength of America of Russia and China is no one wants to live or be assimilated there. We should be making it easier for educated, specialized, and motivated people to come here from all over the world to live. Yet we make it difficult for many - especially Indians or Indonesians. Basically countries with a backlog of X many cannot come here. To those who complain about aliens coming here, and taking your "jobs"? Well you have to earn a job damn it, and may the best win. I am ranting. I just hate how... Polarized and unfocused our country is. I want to see us be the best we can be, and I think since the boomer era we have made progress, but lost some good qualities that made America powerful in the first place. We need some charismstic younger leaders that are not just frail like Biden or batshyte insane like Trump.

2842. Sure. For new cars EVs are the way to go. Battery recycling is getting a ton of investment, and some facilities are already up and running. He surprisingly skipped one thing. Refining gas to burn into electricity at a power plant is so much more efficent then refining it. Compared to shipping it everywhere to gas stations, and using it in ICE which are incredibly inefficient compared to electrical motors. So using what we do pull from the earth wisely is what we should be doing yeah? Well EVs are the best solution for that by far. Secondly renewable only recently became cheaper than fossil fuels. The technology actually still has inprovement too, so it will get cheaper. We can turn old fossil fuel plants into nuclear too by the way, reducing the exorbitant price on that. We really should push nuclear anyway. Sure changes to infrastructure would have to happen. Yet our grid needs an overhaul in America anyway so we might as well beef it up. Charging? Well the market and government will find a solution to this. Yeah cities will have chargers like how they have parking meters, but whatever. Cities should focus on getting cars out of the denser areas, and making them bike friendly, and easy to not need a vehicle. None of these are even insurmountable. We could do it in two decades if we focused on it. Battery chemistries like solid state are here, and lithium air are on the horizon which offer potential increases in energy density ten to fifty times more at half efficiency! With those even Electric Planes will be a no brainer except for intercontinental flights. They are becoming cheaper, hold more charge, charge faster, lighter, use less space, more reliable, and last longer... ICE doesn't have much of a future. So with all that said it is a no brainer to get off fossil fuels for us regular plebs ASAP. For long haul trucking? Trains! Ha yeah right. Series hybrids! (Where the ICE is a generator). No idea why only start ups like Edison Motors are doing it. He disappointed me by skipping the power plant efficiency part. He is always thorough. Oh screw anti EV and super pro EV crowd too. EVs have issue like cost, and charging. Yet let us be realistic. Most of us don't drive hours straight every day. God forbid people get inconveinced for having to sit for 20 to 45 minutes to charge. PS this guy online has solar and wind at home. Also has a solar trailer, and a portable wind generator. Once he gets his Tesla Truck (when lol)) he plans to go camping, charging his truck plus whatever when he goes fishing, hunting, or camping. Anyway anti EV or pro ICE are just as bad as the anti ICE. Both extremist are annoying. Me? I'm for whatever technology makes sense, and ICE really doesn't as batteries continue to improve which saddens me.

2955. @@trollolol705  @trollolol705  Yes... Farming uses land and resources. What exactly at ya getting at here? Oh you're against GMOs... One of those types... Probably don't even really understand them but read some headlines and scared of the boogeyman. In order to feed the world without GMOs we would be tearing down for more farmland, using more water, and diseases and pests would wipe more out. GMOs can be much more nutritious and can taste better. If you have solutions then I would love to hear it it. GMOs are a life saver and believe it or not we have been modifying plants since agriculture once we learned how to selectively breed and cross plants- go try to find what a tomatoe or corn looked like from 10k years ago and compare the two. So I am not getting your point here either but I suggest you really read up on the subject. Just because you grew up on a farm means jack. That is very apparent as the food you grew weren't native either but designed by man in a slower way but the results are the same. I doubt you actually have any solid reasons on why GMOs are bad. I would love to be enlightened. I already listed the benefits - the savings in water and using less farmland alone are better for the earth in the long run. The fact each acre can produce more with higher nutrition also is a benefit. As for killing wild native species. Yeah I bet your parents allowed every plant to grow between whatever your cash crop was. And yes farmers need to be better. More efficient. Just like industrial fisherman need to stop scooping up everything in the ocean making a path of destruction for all wildlife. I'm all for salmon farms and other marine farming BTW as long as it is done efficiently and responsibly like all production should be.

3015.  @Prometheus4096  You are right and wrong. Google is already investing in geothermal to power their own things. (I hope millimeter wave drilling takes off as well. I am all for geothermal. ) On the other hand Microsoft signed a deal for nuclear with Helion for a nuclear plant. While Amazon invested in a nuclear plant to draw power from allowing that company to invest. Some crypto firms are looking into nuclear as well. I can't remember which. Some datacenters/servers need to be close to certain areas for a variety of reasons. The cost of AI specifically is going to rise so fast that it might not be feasible to use wind or solar nearby. Both require a ton of space. If companies had it their own way you'd be 100% correct. Cheaper to just use wind or solar, but it isn't always possible, and will be harder as AI requires more power to run. Nuclear in that case looks enticing. SMRs will be perfect for those situations. Especially when you look at the projected numbers of GW used in one place by 2030 to 2050. So what I am saying is solar and wind when possible. With SMRs covering gaps when it isn't possible to purchase enough land. It doesn't need to be one solution. Remember governments and citizens are already raising eyebrows at the demands, and raising power costs in areas these companies operate in. Companies are raising eyebrows at lack of the power companies stepping up, and most likely find it cheaper to build/generate their own power. But we will see! I am all for nuclear, but doesn't seem like any companies can maintain their projected price in the West, and the last thing I want is a lack in saftey. Especislly after what South Korea nuclear has pulled!

3031.  @AndrewFullerton  What is your gripe with livestock? Are you trying to say we don't have enough corn to feed everyone because of cows? Or more specifically livestock are the cause of humans not being able to afford food? Last time I checked we produce enough food to feed 10 billion people and have a huge surplus. We do need to become more efficient with what we do have for sure especially with fresh water. Isreal does a good job with their water. Our practices need to be better like vertical/indoor farming. Yet we have people who are completely insane thinking no preservatives, no GMOs, organic, no pesticides is the right way to go when in reality that would make food more expensive and scarce. No food if the bugs got there first. The food would spoil before it reached those who needed it, or the crop would produce lower yields, or the crop dies because we didn't use GMOs that are resistant to droughts and disease. Seriously live stock isn't the issue on why people are starving. It doesnt matter if the remains is used towards animal feed. It is a political, social economical and logistical issue. Again we should be more efficient. Yet don't sit here any say some African child is starving because a goat gets fed instead of him. No he's starving because there's no work and he lives in a man made hell hole. Let someone who can afford it to enjoy their burger and fries. Just don't sit there any say food scarcity is caused by livestock and terrible farming practices which actually have improved significantly. If you want to go back to the bronze age be my guest. You can do that on your own. I'll take my preserved GMO franken fruit and canned vegs with a nice steak and a can of chocolate milk. Wait no a Doctor Pepper, Thanks. You can nibble on some part of a the plant that your body cannot digest but livestock can or make some tea.
