  2.  @MadMariuss  How can you cover the flanks when the pocket only about 20 miles wide? what about defending from artillery and other projectiles? even tanks? do they use armored umbrellas? They were goaded into this. The Russians were most likely surprised they made this move. They should be careful with the bridges to its rear. I'm not sure the Russians would even destroy them.

  3. I never looked at the map in detail but all these rumours of enciclements and being cut off had me curious. This looks ridiculous. How many troops are involved in these 2 slivers of a bridgehead. Are they well supplied? Idk, but it looks like a joke.

  4.  @MadMariuss  you realize a person can flip your arguments to favor the Russians? That pocket is about 50km deep and 20km wide. Its also near the Russian border. Just 2 things which stick out at first glance. The formation of the bridgehead was met with little resistance. Thats the question mark you address but I'm not sure. Obviously this weakness was no secret to either side.

You think they will be cut iff? Sorry if I sound facetious. Seriously? In lieu of the recent mobilization of planes etc. near the border. Look at the big picture. Look at the map. This pocket can be easily cut off itself and engulfed.

  18.  @margaridacosta270  I don't think either side wants to escalate but thats just my opinion. I think a lot of it has to do with testing out weapons. NATO is training cells to work after Russia takes over Ukraine, turninv it into an Iraq or Afghanistan.

  28.  Challo  150k is a lot of people to spread the word. This is rank/file stuff. Hard to keep a secret. Compare that to more classified info like lets say stealth, satellites, high end missiles, etc. of which general capabilities we're already aware. To be frank, it just takes 1 person, 1 leak and it turns into 150k overnight etc.

I take it as an admission that they've been losing the propaganda war that they had to pull this stunt. Things definitely change w winter coming and the Ukrainians need to supply their troops accordingly. Manouevers will be more difficult and positions could either be more hidden or exposed. The Ukrainians can't win with their current supply and training. In fact they've been losing-horrendously. Look at the map. The Russians have already taken the more industrious easter Russian regions. Ukraine is already finished. Odessa and Transnitstria are next and Ukraine is landlocked. They are already landlocked if Russia so choses. You are missing the elephants in the room. Assistance to Ukraine has diminished. The country was already lost before the war. How is it going to pay off its debts? it was already impossible before the war. It has lost much more soldiers than the Russians even during this counteroffensive as per pro-Ukrainian sources. 5:1 ratio. This is not getting beaten. This is an outright slaughter. And the Russians have done this with less troops albeit with better and more numerous equipment. Yes, HIMARS HIMARS HIMARS which they talk about all the time is inferior to the Russian counterpart in range, payload and rate of fire. One last elephant in the room is: check the map. Notice something in general. Now look at whats next. Odessa and Transnistria. You might ask why Russia hasn't taken more of the central part of Ukraine. If they did, Ukrainian society would capitulate. Fighting over that territory would destroy the farmlands which feed the country as well as Europe. The fight over that land would also be quick as the land is flat and open. Russia is being very nice. Ukraine was never meant to win. It was meant to lose. Yes, you're a loser just like they are. The winners are Russia and the U.S. Brainfack isn't it? You don't get it. You're so emotionally invested and not even on the right side. What propaganda has fed your head full of mushrooms? Both sides are hesitant to reveal their weapons if you haven't noticed. This war isn't representative of modern warfare. If it was, it would be MUCH MORE DEVASTATING. Non-nuclear conventional warfare. Btw that would include nukes for the Russians-they can use them conventionally in a variety of ways including without fallout. They're way ahead of us by decades. Our satellites are better I think. Don't know about the Chinese.

In fact hardly any besides the usual war footage. The ones that do break that rule get persecuted from Ukrainians(government, agents) as well from their governments abroad for foreigners.
