Not to mention the criminal is better off committing crimes in Mexico where there is so much violence and corruption, that he or she would have a higher chance of getting away with their crimes their than here in the US. Not to mention immigrants are not the ones who bring the majority of drugs here. That would be highly inefficient and unnecessarily risky. Criminal organizations and cartels either fly their drugs into the country by plane, or ship them their by boat with the drugs hidden.
