Nothing has been said about Renault-Nissan buying Mitsubishi, and that this vehicle is based on Outlander and Outlander Sport/ASX. There is nothing "Eclipse" about this vehicle besides the name. There are rumors that this might be the last own Mitsu's vehicle and the last platform, so Mitsu does not develop new platforms but is going to switch to whatever Renault-Nissan have. I am also surprised that you liked that CVT kept revs in the "meaty" zone - yes, this what CVT is designed to do, they all do this, but normally you hate CVT for this "rubbery", "droning" feel but here you praised it. Nothing about how it drives, and from the other sources it looks its driving dynamics is nowhere near the CX-5. The bottom portion of the rear window does not have a separate wiper, but gets dirty quickly, but you could not notice that driving on dry roads in California. All in all, this seems like a last breath of Mitsu as an individual car company.
