  2. All those slamming Russians for believing they fight a just war, ask a Vietnam or Iraq vet whether they think they fought a just war. Most Vietnam vets would say the US just had to bomb the Vietnamese into submission harder instead of leaving. No remorse. And "thank you for your service" from those who were lucky not to go there. Remember, back then young people were drafted. After media reports and public outcry the US switched to "professional" armed forces, or in other words, mercenaries. Putin wanted to do the same. At the beginning of the invasion he promised no general mobilization and that conscripts will not be sent to fight Ukrainians. He expected the whole thing to finish in three days with a military parade in Kyiv and "mission accomplished", as Bush famously said. But Putin fucked up, and now we are on the brink of the Russia-NATO war using nukes. I expect the worst.

  3. President does not have full power in the US. Does not really matter who is President. The whole presidential race is just a spectacle for the masses. In the US, corporations rule.
