Sounds like a line people use to justify violating the 2A. The founders were mostly tradesmen, wealthy but still tradesmen, they knew gun design was changing fast. Thats the reason they refered to 'Arms" not guns. They knew there would be wounderous new designs in the near future.

@DoctorThomas23 Blunderbus was unrifled and relatively short barreled. Very close range and typically was used as a shotgun.
