  1. Yes the A bodies were great cars especially with the slant 6. i owned a 72 duster,61 dart and a 74 dart with the slant (the 61 had amazing power for a 6) and all got 32-35 mpg

  4. the compacts may have received SOME of the same engines as larger cars, they did achieve impressive mileage. the early 60s a body Chryslers(valiant ,dart. etc) with the small straight 6 could easily break 30 mpg . the straight 6 falcon could achieve high 20s. i grew up with these cars and have owned several.

  6. i forgot that, he did miss my favorite chevy compact. the early novas were very nice ( not so much for the mid 70s like i had) 63-73 novas had best styling

  7. corvair still had the balance issue of a rear engine, much safer than the early models but not as good of handling as the other makes

  9. 400 hp out of 420 CID? thats an accomplishment not common till the 2010s, some 80 years ahead of its time. impressive.
