Actually the second impeachment was about the election and they found no wrongdoing. so he, in essence , has been tried and aquitted.

@yoyo36 I HAVE read the 14th amendment. Its pretty clear. #1 CONGRESS decides who is ineligible, NOT the state, #2 Nowwhere in the 14th does it say there need not be a conviction. This is a very dangerous trend where people thing punishment without due process is just fine (till they face jail time without a trial)
