  1. Gold is decentralized commodity value, it all depends on the supply and demand per country and rates are depend on it. My money is on gold and precious metals, the value depends upon the supply and demand.

  2.  @aheroictaxidriver3180  Companies buy their own stocks when its falling for it to stop its decreased value and its legal, there are many more tricks to it and all are legal. Right now gold is like bitcoin de-centralized legal asset which is recognized everywhere. It used to be a backer of a central currency now its a commodity.
