@carloshenriquezimmer7543 Consider that early iron weapons were not that superior to bronze. In Europe iron replaced bronze completely in little time at the end of the bronze age because of the limited availability of tin (that practically doesn't exist in continental Europe or middle east), but in China weapons of bronze, iron and cast iron kept on being used toghether for centuries.

Homer specifies that the boar's tusk helmet given by Meriones to Odysseus was an heirloom, passed down through the generations. More, Odysseus is described wearing it only during his moonlight incursion in the city to steal the palladium. It's quite obvious that a clanking bronze armour was not the best choice in that situation. In the same expedition, Diomedes worn a simple leather helmet without crest or other ornaments.

@akaneh1989 Or, in the Odissey, Odysseus actually "thinks" something, while in the Iliad, when some hero has an idea, is always a god that put it into his head.
