  2.  @___Truth___  People need time to die. Those who die today, had been diagnosed with COVID-19 from 7 to 14 days ago. You can't compare their number with the number of cases that had been recorded in the last few days. US currently has 1465 solved cases. 1037 with the death of the patient, 428 with the recovery. It's a dire 29.2% recovery rate. We have seen that in other countries. It happens because the epidemic in US is only at the start, and people needs more time to recover than to die. It will improve, but don't think that the overall mortality will be 1.2%-1.6% in the end.

  3. The peak of deaths for Italy had been 3/21 with 793. 3/24 they had been 743, so it's a drop in respect to the peak and in respect to the previous day too. In general, it takes time for people to die, so those that die today are people that had been diagnosed with coronavirus at least one week (but more probably two) ago. It's normal that the number of deaths keeps on rising for some time after the number of newly infected people started to decrease. The most important news from Italy yesterday, is that the number of ICU patients increased of only 39. The 5210 new cases are largely due to the fact that, now that the hospitals begin to be less overwelmed more tests are done to the general population, so recording less severe, or asymptomatic, cases.
