There are two reasons we more easily find earth-like planets orbiting in goldielocks zone around red dwarfs. 1) being the star smaller in respect to the planet, the eclipse is easier to detect; 2) to confirm the existence of the planet, at least three passages in front of the star are required. For a star the size of the Sun, that requires around three years of observations, for a red dwarf, it only takes few months. The orbital period of K2-18b is only 33 days.
