Not all the Germans rooted for Arminius. Not even all of his own tribesmen. Not even his own brother and father-in-law.

Arminius' own brother, Flavus, was a decorated auxiliar (he was fighting in Pannonia during the ambush), fought for Germanicus against Arminius, and his son became king of the Cherusci. Ironically the Cherushi became allied of the Romans until their last recorded appearance, at the time of Domitianus.

@salavat294 Who talked about necessity? We were talking about points of view. Not all the Germans considered the Empire evil. Not even all of his own tribesmen. Not even his own brother and his father-in-law.

Same for the overly big helmets of the cavalrymen. They probably hide a skull cap for horse riding.

There are actually several sources. Tacitus wrote that Boudica and her daughters had been mistreated. Cassius Dio reduced the cause of the revolt to unjust taxation. Tacitus' narration however seems "strange". Who gave the order to pillage her kingdom, lash her and rape her daughters? The governor was not even there (he was campaigning against the druids).
