He had been the curator of various divisional and regimental museums of the US Army (more collections of memorabilia than real museums), wrote a book on Roman military history, is active in reenactment and writes articles on newspapers, but has not academic credentials apart from an Associate of Arts Degree by the University of Maryland, European Campus. Exactly like the youtubers he criticises, he's an hobbyist, not a scientist.
