"His works needs to be critiqued out of existence". There is no mid way. What's not perfectly aligned must be canceled.

What really changed in the deaths of characters before and after they took over is that ASOIAF deaths happen when it seems that the characters still have MUCH to do, and their death puts the story in a completely new direction. GOT post-takeover deaths are made only to slim down the cast. D&D killed characters they didn't know how to handle, so their death doesn't change anything in the genreal direction of the story.

Retconning the sequel trilogy would be the only thing that would make people minimally interested in another SW movie.

@Sulamanjansulttaani There's no sickness that creates calories that are not assumed by eating. Hypothyroidism IE can cause weight gain, but another sympton is extreme fatigue. The weight increases because those calories are not used to move. Here we are talking about a fighter.

Two reasons: 1) "Dear Sony, whe shilled for you. We said Stellar Blades's costumes were fine, and they were the devs' original choice, and those who didn't like them were weirdos. We didn't say A SINGLE WORD about Helldivers becoming inaccessible in over 100 countries where people already paid for it. AND YOU THEN APPEASED THE WEIRDOS? WHAT'S THE SENSE IN US BEING YOUR DOORMAT IF YOU THEN DECIDE TO LISTEN TO THE GAMERS?" 2) This, and the Helldivers campaign, demonstrate gamers don't need any more game journos to act as middlemen between them and game companies. They can directly get what they want, instead of what game journos think they need.

Lightyear failed because it was boring AF. No '90s children whould have wanted a Lightyear figure after having seen that movie. A movie where Buzz Lightyear doesn't go anywere, spend time seeing his friends aging, and only battles against himself. "Buzz Lightyear of star command" was the kind of cartoon that would have sold figures. Not "poor man's interstellar".

Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed set in Japan. How to have a gold mine, and fill it with manure.

@meggi8048 There are different kinds of fanfiction. On one side there's "I like the show, but I really don't want to write that story. I want to write my story in that generic setting, an and put the show's characters in it, even if they act out of character". On another side there is "This is the lore, those are the characters, what could have happened between episode X and Episode Y that doesn't contradict the lore in any way?".
7
There's a lot of bad fanfiction obviously, but it's quite easy to discover the pearls, respectful of both the characters and the lore.
7
"gamers will need to get comfortable not owning their games". Ubisoft’s head of subscriptions, Philippe Tremblay. I, for one, am perfectly comfortable not owning Ubisoft's games.
5
- Pretty high hardware requirements (higher than Black Mith Wukong) for... this.
5
@Deadmanstrolln Never underestimate Hollywood's ability to learn the wrong lesson from failures.
5
@thezeddy There is the in-show reality and what the viewers perceive. In show, Jedi are aware of the complexity of life (infact they are guardians of peace, not enforcers of good). But for the viewers SW, as Lucas stated, is a story of good vs. evil.

Sumo is not only about grappling. Open palm hits are an integral part of it. They are VERY powerful (without risking to break your knuckles), and many KO are administered that way.
4
@LastKnightGaming1988 Also there would be no way to persuade Harrison Ford to play Han Solo again. It should be done without them.
3
@meggi8048 Because those characters are recognizable. They have known backstories, they have done things before that the readers knew, so it's way easier to use them than to invent completely new ones.

@Clip-tc7vg it was as clear as crystal that wasn't the "intended vision". They developed a game for years, made so (and proudly told in pre-release interviews) that every fabric looked like real fabric with its thickness. They printed physical copies of the game made that way, with those costumes and relative thumbnails. Then, at the first patch ,they added "fabric" that was simply tatooed on the skin, without even changing the thumbnails , that remained those of the "old" costumes. It was obvious the change had been hastily made. For everyone but a "journalist".

In 2001 "Oni" Konoko was supposed to be genetically modified, and still she had to repeatedly beat the shit out even the lowest minions to KO them.

Ad that, at early 2023, after 7 years of development and 200m$ spent, the game was nowhere close to be playable. Sony bought the studio, pumped further 200m$ in it and outsourced much of the work, so there are the devs of all the other studios involved.
2
@rosegiogio9255 If it wasn't important, then why change the game to cover it in first place?
2
See Colin Moriarty's video about Concord. Early 2023, after 7 years of development and 200m$ spent, the game was nowhere close to be playable. Sony bought the studio, pumped further 200m$ in it and outsourced the rest of the work.

@SeacryBlastsAloT And that's false. The European Parliament is voted, and the European Council is made by the premiers of the EU countries.
2
@JesiAsh No that's UE money. Norway gave other funds. And the EU funds are granted on a purely bureaucratic level. Your project checks certain boxes, you have access to the funds. None cares if the game is good or bad.
2
@serganta8861 Well no. Apart for nuts, none criticizes the game for things like having diverse characters. They criticizes it because the gameplay is laughable and the dialogues are cringe AF. It's not like you have to make shitty games to have the funds.
2
@SeacryBlastsAloT BTW, In the US the premier (chief of the executive) is appointed by unelected delegates whose number is decided in the Presidential Elections. In France, Germany and Italy is voted by the elected Parliament, in UK is automatically the secretary of the party that won the last elections (regardless if he personally had been voted or not, and he can be changed during the legislature) ecc... ecc... The way the EU chief of the executive is elected is in no way less democratic than in any western democracy.
2
@AscendantStoic They are, but they don't need to be to have access to the funds. EU co-finances THOUSANDS of projects every year. Yeah, EU funds for game developers are granted provided that: "Applications should present adequate strategies to ensure a more sustainable and more environmentally-respectful industry and to ensure gender balance, inclusion, diversity and representativeness". But it's not written anywhere than the game must be about a group of freaks that treat like shit everyone that doesn't agree with them. They could have made a farming mobile game with the possibility of customizing your character with different gender and ethnicity, and it would have been funded the same.
2
Afro Samurai was intended to be funny, exaggerated badassery. Japanese liked it first for that. It didn't pretend to have a realistic setting or to depict any historical character.
2
Ubisoft should get used to people not buying the games they make.
2
@spk1121 Unfortunately, if those 50 years after ROTJ means 20 years after Rise of Skywalker, people would still not be interested. That timeline is dead, and anything made from that would be dead before release. The sequel trilogy voided the first one of meaning, turning it's main characters in losers, and making so that all they did and went through had been for nothing. As long as this is true, SW is dead.

"the complete opposite of Disney business model over the past decade"? One thing is some hint at same-sex relationships in kid shows. Another is showing a biologically male teenager interacting with a little girl in a public restroom. All hell would have broken loose had they shown that. Disney ALWAYS tried to avoid that kind of publicity.
1
@mattandrews2594 Yeah. Moreover, who's not really interested in a hobby, and gives it only a casual view, only notices crap and weird things. Who is interested in the hobby, doesn't even notice those. They are only noise for him. Because it's used to exclude them from his attention and search for the good.
1
@TheBlackfall234 The ending is close (Bran king IE), but mind that the production already barely touched book 5 (the only one published during the show run). For when they reached the books, the TV story was already so different (IE Young Griff, that will have a main part in book 6, didn't exist in the TV show, while the Night King doesn't exist in the books) that another book wouldn't have saved it. Mind also that the delays started after book 3, when he completely changed his previous plans (originally there should have been a 3 years pause in the story). Since then he started to figure out how to wrap up the various treads and end the story. Already in books 4 and 5 there is a lot of filler stuff.

If you don't own the games you paid for, then piracy isn't theft.
1
@SeacryBlastsAloT The directly elected European Parliament. The same that votes ANY European law.
1
@SeacryBlastsAloT To use very simple words so that you have a more difficult time to twist then words into a more complicated and less convenient form: you don't like the result of the elections, so obviously you think they are rigged, because you can't accept reality to not bend to your desires. That's your problem, not of the elections.
1
@SeacryBlastsAloT First of all, "it's crystal clear to me" is not how it legally works. Then, unfortunately almost all elections in Germany end up in a coalition government, whose premier is decided and supported by different parties. So the voters of some party ended with the party they voted supporting someone that's not member of the same party, and it was not "crystal clear" to them their vote would have supported. Now tell me how much FPD voters went to the 2021 elections wanting Scholz as premier.
1
@SeacryBlastsAloT It means that, as a result of the European Election, there was a majority in the European Parliament that wanted her as the President of the Commission. Exactly like Scholz in Germany. She wasn't the ideal candidate of everyone, but she was the name that could be voted by a majority of the representatives.

That's an advantage when adapting Tolkien, since he never writes inner monologues. The narrator never tells us what a character thinks, only what he says and does. On the other hand, you can't write a movie script for "the Hobbit" without heavily adapting it. Because, IE, in the book no other dwarf than Thorin is individually characterized. They are only 13 interchangeable short guys with beard and hat. And that doesn't work in a movie. Or because the battle of the five armies and the death of Thorin happen "out of screen", and that's unacceptable in a movie.
1
@parkermaisterra8532 OMG. I cannot even imagine what clusterfuck they'll come up with, once run out of original material. Expect GOT season 7-8, but with more diversity.
1
Like Oni came out 23 years ago and it's still unparalleled as melee mechanic. They could have just COPIED an old game to have much better fights using practically "0" resources.
1
They'll make another similar plea in two ot three months. Is a way to rise more money.
1
Not only they are not in the game. They are much better than those that are in the game. So, among the characters they had available, they purposedly chose the WORST design to attract public.
1
You make movies out of established franchises because you WANT those fans to give you their money. Otherwise you would make YOUR original story in YOUR original world. But you want also to ignore their tastes? And them to thank you?
