Actually much of the food Brits eat comes form EU.

Actually EU farmers are pretty happy. The shelves that are not going to be filled with the British vegetables, will be with EU ones and, once the UK farmers had started to pay to pickers wages high enough to attract British workers, their products will be far less competitive.

@berty1422 I guess you have problem in understanding simple written texts. Exactly because UK vegetable farms are for the UK market, EU farmers are pretty happy of them not being able to supply the UK market. The shelves IN THE UK that are not going to be filled with the British vegetables, will be with EU ones. Because, you know, "most fruit and veg sold in the UK is from Spain" and none prevents them to sell MORE in the UK. Did you grasp it now? This "Europe wide problem" didn't prevent fruits and vegetables to be picked anywere else than in the UK. No European country is an "agricultural economy". The only ones that need to be competitive are the farmers, because otherwise they go bankrupt. It's pretty revealing that you didn't arrive even that far. But you are evidently too stupid to understand even the simplest of matters.

@garylongleyl5188 Wasn't it one of the Brexit slogans? "Choose Brexit. You'll be like in the war".

@garylongleyl5188 Strange. I've heard many farmers that didn't think there would have been that much problems, and fishermen that felt they have been shafted. What's happening in the EU?

@garylongleyl5188 Sorry, but that list doesn't mean anything. It's only trowing some random name. EU fishermen stil fish in "UK waters". Are the British fishermen that fish less than before, due to the problems in exporting in their main markets. The UK management of COVID is not an exemple for ANYONE and the fact that it has vaccinated a small percentage of people more than the main European contries (not good progress?) doesn't change the fact that the COVID situation is still a mess in UK more than everywere else in the industrialised world. There's no significative difference between UK and EU unemployment rate. "financial problems" and "Germany manufacturing" doesn't mean anything. EU exports to UK fell like UK exports to EU, but the relative importance of those exports for UK is far greater. Etc. etc.

@garylongleyl5188 "you want to hear only what you want to hear" seems like a good desciption for you. I suggest you to not take your information just from the Express. You would have known that German manufacturing is al ready above pre-COVID levels. It's pretty revealing of your sources this peculiar opinion that things going (falsely) worse in the EU should in some way be of satisfaction for the ones damaged by Brexit. You seems to really have a war mentality. "It doesn't count how bad it is for me, if I can make it worse for them". You perceive the EU as enemies in a war that had no sense in first place.

@garylongleyl5188 See, the fact that you did say that, doesn't mean it's true. The same content of your post told otherwise. What was to "prove"? The EU told in all manners that they preferred UK not to leave, because that would have been damaging for all. Contrary to you, EU has not a war mentality, they don't like to face problems only because the leavers will face far worse. EU didn't want to cause any "problem", and didn't cause them. Much of the problems of Brexit have been caused by UK negotiators. I advise you to leave the planet of the Express readers. Maybe you would start to understand the real world.
