You missed the Lancia Montecarlo/Scorpion.

Actually it was not THAT bad. Surely not one of the 6 worst F1 engines ever. Infact it competed for several years, and, even not being used by top teams, obtained many decent placements and a podium. Ironically, after having tried it, like said in the video, the McLaren refused it for the Peugeot A/4 (because the French manufacturer non only would have given the engines for free, but would have paid to sponsor the team) that was REALLY a turd.

The PRV V6 actually gained quite a reputation as a race engine. It could sustain massive turbocharging, and had the advantage of the 90° banks, that kept the center of gravity low.

The Shelby Cobra Daytona has little to do with the production MKII and 427. It even had inboard brakes, while they were external on the production cars to reduce costs.

Jαѕσи Tσdd. That's why the Porsche 2.0l that produced not spectacular but decent 125hp in Europe, produced only 95hp in the US, or the Lancia Scorpion/Montecarlo, that was equipped with a 130hp 2.0l in Europe, only had a 1.8l 84hp engine in the US. However, those engines states that around 50hp/litre in a naturally aspirated production engine were still easily achievable (and those were adaptations, they had not being designed for catalitic converter and unleaded fuel). The US "high performance" engines producing 30hp/l naturally aspirated and 40hp/l turbocharged were a bit of a disappointment and smelled of lazy designing.

Also known as V180° engine. Different from a boxer because it has two connecting rods for crank.

Isotta Fraschini Asso 1000 W18. Introduced in 1928, still in production as the CRM W18 marine engine.

Actually in the mid '90s Ferrari was having problems with aerodynamic, and they had until they hired Rory Byrne in late 1996, so a different engine would have changed little. However it was true that the Lambo engine was not even nearly "bad". Even if not used by top teams and top drivers, it obtained many point-placements (when you needed to be in the first six to score points) and a podium. Ironically, after having tried it, like said in the video, McLaren team refused it for the Peugeot A/4 (because the French manufacturer non only would have given the engines for free, but would have paid to sponsor the team) that was REALLY a turd.

What a bunch of bullshit. Fiat's expertise in engines designing and manufacturing has few parallels in the world. Fiat sells its engines to Suzuki (whose agreement with Volkswagen had been broken exactly on the pretense of the Germans that Suzuki had to buy their diesel engines instead of the Italian ones), General Motors (Cadillac, Chevrolet, Opel), Ford, PSA (Peugeot, Citroen), Renault, Saab and Tata. A specialised channel should do better researches instead on posting videos based on stereotypes.

Infact I'm not comparing an inline 4 banger 2.0L with a "7L (or larger) engine that makes literally almost three times as much torque as horsepower". I'm comparing it with engines with comparable specific displacement. A 2.0L I4 and a 4.0L V8 (and similar. A 5.0L V8 only have 125cl more displacement for cylinder, not enough to ruin anything) have the same specific displacement. The second is supposed to have the same specific power and the same specific torque of the first. If it fails at it (we are talking of engines put on supposedly sporty cars, not trucks), well, see above.

It's funny to hear someone that knows nothing about engines pretending to give lessons about them.
