Unfortunately that only means that the 12th century author Geoffrey of Monmouth can have used the life of Riothamus as an inspiration to write the life of Arthur in his Historia Regum Britanniae. Unfortunately that had not been the first, or even the second mention of Arthur in English literature, the first datable one being the 9th century Historia Brittonorum, so we still don't know if that early Arthur is Monmouth's Arthur. Also the 10th century Annales Cambriae dates the death of Arthur (not a king there) at 537–539, so he lived at least a pair of generations after Riothamus.

@BrotherPatriot Apart from the people that lived close to the actual battle, as Gildas, that wrote extensively about Ambrosius Aurelianus, and not about Arthur. Also the 10th century Annales Cambriae dates the death of Arthur (not a king there) in battle, at 537–539 AD, so he should have been too young, if not to fight, at least to have a decisive influence at Badon.
