US pilots are no better than the average western pilot. The F16 is currently in use by 25 countries around the world, with 4 former operators. None of them had a particular difficulty in using it , and their accident rates are no different than the US ones.

@-108- F-16 are not in use only with NATO countries, and not really. Pilots of NATO countries that bordered, or almost, the Warsaw Pact during the cold war tended to have different training, and used different tactics, than US ones. That often surprised US pilots in combined exercises. You simply can't get conclusions from a single incident whose causes are still to assess. It's not like US pilots never crashed an F-16.

@-108- A US pilot that trained with former Warsaw Pacts pilots, when they were still flying Russian stuff, stated that they tended to be very "bi-dimensional" that's because, in training, they had a lot of limitations on allowed turning radius, attack angles and so on. That's probably because, as reported by the Indians also, Russian stuff is fragile. If you use it harshly, it will always be under maintenance. But, if Ukrainians pilots still have that habit of "playing it safe", that's not dangerous for the aircrafts. Quite the contrary infact.

@-108- That the Ukrainian pilots are getting "severely truncated training" is not a fact. The first ones started training in August 2023 in Denmark. The F-16 B-Course takes 9 months, and that's for fresh pilots. For an experienced pilot, to transition from a western combat aircraft to an F-16 takes less than three months. For a pilot with experience flying a Mig 29 is something in between. F-16 instructors, last year, estimated around 6 months. So it doesn't seem the training had been truncated in anything.

@-108- #1 Contrary to you, I don't use chatGPT. #2 I don't doubt you find someone corroborating what you want to believe. That being what "Everyone involved" stated instead is simply false. #3 Training to simply "fly" an F-16 takes few weeks for a fresh pilot. The rest of the nine months are needed to train how o fight with it. At the end of the Course, a pilot is considered able to pilot the fighter in combat conditions and would do it in the US or anywhere else. You are mistaking the simple fact that the more you fly, the more you learn, with the time required to learn to fly an aircraft. Premised that, even considering 9 months, the Course would have ended in May for the first pilots, flight hours are a huge advantage and the reason it would take less than the full nine months required for the fresh pilots for the Ukrainians. There is little standardization between the cockpits of western aircrafts. Transitioning from a MIG-29 doesn't take significantly more time than from any other model.
