@G1NZOU Not to say that the thing would have had a faux tower and faux struts, all of them unnecessarily exposed to wind.

Nothing to say on the concrete? Because last time I saw that kind of cement, full of enclosure of different materials, was on 100 years old structures.

@yodaiam1000 I don't think that elevating the walkaway of a total of 1m would have complicated the stair or the elevator system at all. Once you have to build a stair, or an elevator, one meter more or less doesn't make ANY difference. The truss is more complicated than the beam, especially the variable pace truss they chose to build.

@matthewgaines10 All the complicated truss structure was actually completely useless and a waste of money. The span of the longest section of the bridge was just 53m. Pre-tensioned concrete beams of that lenght are normally available on the market. It only needed do put one, or two, of them on the pillars, and a metallic walkway bolted on it. Many less chances to screw up both the design and the installation.

@slimjim2584 Tensile structures are actually more resistant to winds and earthquakes. Aircrafts are not made out of concrete.
