In Minnesota and Ohio 20% of the infected are healtcare workers. 140 employees at one hospital alone, Brigham and Women’s in Boston, tested positive for coronavirus, and for the US this is only the start. Those hospitals were still not overwelmed yet. Yeah, nothing to learn.

Because they had been hit before, but Italy, unlike any other western country, already reached it's peak, and daily infections and deaths are decreasing. Spain and US are currently having more daily victims than Italy ever had. Spain is going to surpass Italy in total number of victims within the next week US will probably do the same before. For UK it will need more time, but the path is pretty clear.

There is a public hospital like this, specialized in infectious diseases and geared up to treat them, in every major Italian city.

I've heard some doctors that put on his own, better, equipment had been told to put it off because it would have scared the patients.

Those hospitals were still not overwelmed yet. The current opinion of the epidemiologists is that the virus was present in Italy since december, when there was not even a test to diagnose it. Some patients had been treated like it was a normal flu, and so the virus entered into the healtcare system. Much of the doctors that had been infected are actually community physicians, not hospitals, doctors. There is a similar hospital, specialised in infectious diseases, in every major Italian city.

Italy had been hit before, and reached its peak of new infections before. Spain's total death count will surpass that of Italy within two weeks. US will do it first than the end of the next week.

@guayabito6946 Italy had been the first western country to lockdown (first they had a partial lockdown on the most affected areas) on March 8, they had 7375 total cases and 366 deaths. Spain, that's going to be hit harder than Italy, locked down a week later, at 5678 total cases and 196 deaths. France, that's going to be hit a little less, locked down the same day of Spain, at 4499 cases and 91 deaths. UK, that had not locked down completely yet, is probably going to be hit worse than Italy and Spain. 1 out of 4 covid-19 world cases are in the US and still some state isn't in lockdown. They will be hit at a completely new level in respect to the European countries.

Every Italian major city has at least one specialised hospital for infectious diseases (Cotugno of Naples, Spallanzani of Rome, Amedeo di Savoia of Turin...). Those hospitals are all geared like this, because they are intended to deal with infectious diseases. Standard hospitals don't see often serious infective diseases, and so have less specialised equipment.

True, but the entire kit the reporter is wearing in the clip costs about $10. It's a fraction of what an hospital bed costs daily, and it's better than what 90% of healtcare workers in the West are actually using.
