  1. ECHR has nothing to do with EU. It has 46 members, while the members of the EU are only 28. Failing to honor commitments with the EU is going to have real repercussions instead of simply being treated like any third country, obviously. But if the Brits wants to deprive themselves of human rights, they are free to do so. It's just like when brexiters were celebrating the end of freedom of movement for people, without realising they had just lost THEIR freedom of movement.
