Only two of his arrows were ready to be used. Too few to face a real fight. Also the bow was maybe functional, but unfinished. It was not strange for a traveler to be equipped like that, because to prepare the other arrows and finish the bow were activities that could be performed to pass time in front of the fire before sleeping. But a raider would have had a complete and finished kit.

@rafaelleal5337 The fact that the arrow that killed him had been extracted (probably be the killer. Otzi's arm across the chest is typical of corpses that had been flipped after death), but none of his possessions had ben stolen, points to one fact. Both the arrow on Otzi's body and the axe in possession of the killer would have been damning evidences. Otzi knew his assassin.

@snakejuce We had first hand experience of many hunter/gatherer - prehistoric - stone age cultures, and none works like that. There is not the respect for the belongings of someone you just killed.

@snakejuce You can say they walked on their hands and that to think otherwise is is an absurd absolutist statement. Fact is that we have first hand knowledge of many hunter-gatherer / stone age cultures, and none worked like that. To respect the items of a person you just killed was not a thing.

The killer extracted the arrow. Otzi's arm across the chest is typical of corpses that had been flipped face-down right after death, before the rigor mortis. the fact that the killer extracted the arrow, but took none of Otzi's possessions points to one fact. Both the arrow on Otzi's body and the axe in possession of the killer would have been damning evidences. Otzi knew his assassin.

@snakejuce Beliefs against stealing from the people you just killed were widespread only in your head, where you just invented them. In much "primitive" cultures there is not even the concept of "stealing" beyond your immediate relatives/clan/tribe. Don't pretend to know what you are talking about when you are just an ignorant.
