Not even Kursk's citizens really care. There's no grassroots resistance to Ukrainian's advance. Anyone understand that Ukrainians don't really want that territory, but it's only bargain chip for eventual negotiations.

@rhysvanwyk9367 "second largest army in Europe?" In 2021 military ranking Ukraine was 25th, and 8th in Europe. The weapons provided to them had mostly been stuff that the donor armies considered outdated and were going to replace anyway.

Yeah. The situation in the Donbass is one classic in which the Russian are keeping on attacking, because loosing the initiative would be disastrous. So to divert troops from there is a big "no", and there's nothing sizable left anywere else. Russians have to patch the frontline in Kursk with ragtag formations of marines, Kadyrovites, conscripts... that have problems even in communicating each-other.

@Blinxcavalli In March the ratio was 5/1, and in the worst moments of Ukrainian ammo scarcity 10/1. But Ukrainians advised that, to keep that ratio, the Russians were losing guns at a record pace. Already a year ago 3/1 meant they were on par in effectiveness, since Ukrainian artillery is far more accurate. Since then Russians started to use abysmal quality North Korean shells, and to bring more antiques to the frontline to replace the guns they lost.

@njebei Add that to leave them there, only hampering the Russian attempts to resupply them, Ukrainians can use inexpensive drones to destroy expensive engineering equipment, that armies always have in short supply.

The Sudzha-Korenevo-Rylsk line is even shorter, and, to regain them, Russians should destroy Russian cities instead of Ukrainian ones for once.

@kevingray3550 Off topic I know, but it's a laughable conspiracy theory. The US where at war with Japan since the moment the Japanese decided the strike. The outcome of the single operation was not important, because an expeditionary force had been sent to hit the US anyway, and that means war. Had the Japanese fleet been intercepted and sunk in open sea, the US would have been at war all the same (and starting from a better position). AND Pearl Harbour was not an isolated operation. Contemporary to Pearl Harbour, The Philippines, Guam and Wake Island had been attacked. All those operations were coordinated, any of them was more than enough of a "casus belli" and would have been performed whatever would have happened to the Pearl Harbor strike, that could have failed, or been delayed, or cancelled, for whatever reason.

@rhysvanwyk9367 The Russians don't have T14s and Su57s in nearly enough quantity to "fight" .. They are only for show. To impress the likes of you. Russia is a country with the GDP of Spain that pretend to be some sort of superpower.

@alexsilent5603 Street protests are democratic (infact you don't see them in Russia), resignations happen sometimes, and whatever happened to Yanukovich was not Russian business. Putin is a democratically elected president that imprison and kills his opponents and represses freedom of the press, so not democratic. Elections are not enough to define a democracy. In Soviet Union there were elections too. Ukrainians doesn't have (incredibly at this point) any intention of unalive all of you. They only want you out of their country.
