@jkerman5113 Well.. no. It's more than the Soviets tended to keep on refining their recipes, while the Americans were always in search of the next breakthrough. The American approach allowed them to have the F1 engines when the Soviets didn't have anything similar, but led to the demise of the same F1 engines as soon as the Saturn program was cancelled, and well before that design had been fully developed, to search for something else. Weirdly, the "Soviet" approach is the one typical of the automotive industry, when engines trend to be refined, not revolutionised.

Actually the 10 remaining RBMK reactor functioning, are all located in Russia.

Because it's an absorber, but less efficient than water. so, replacing water in a zone where the reactor was already unstable, they enhanced instability.

The biggest problem nuclear power faces is that those very same safety measures had made it incredibly costly (and it had always been nor very elastic, once you have a nuclear reactor, you are bound to run it for decades). Renevable energies had reached power grid parity with fossil fuels. Nuclear has not.
