The Tories have decimated UK Mil. Between 2010 and 2016 the Tories cut our military by 22%. This extra money will only be able to plug some of the gaps in programs that were facing problems and to rebuild our stockpiles. We aren’t going to see new ships or army brigades or new RAF squadrons. That might only happen when we get to 3% in 2029.

Russia forced us to do this.

The money spent on asylum seekers wouldn’t be enough to buy one Challenger 3 tank. One.

I don’t think this was about Trump at all. The Tories were moving to 2.5% anyway. Before Trump.

Yes - Reform.

Don’t tell us you care about pensioners if you voted Tory for14 years.

What?

It will be when it’s 3% in 4 years. This 2.5% will only plug some gaps in programs that need the dosh. And of course - stockpile expansion. I think rebuilding stockpiles will be the main expenditure, we aren’t going to see more ships or squaddies or jets until we hit 3%.

No, the Army hasn’t been allowed to recruit.
1
Yes we would, the Tories were going to 2.5% when Biden was President.

It wasn’t Trump it was Russia.
1
Mate your maths aren’t including inflation adjustments. At 2.5% it could actually be nothing - depending on inflationary pressures.
