Look at at the frame at 0:55, and tell me who owns the skies over Syria, the green icons are US aircraft.

Note how the Russians pissed off when the F-18s provided air cover, Putin does not want another "incident", he is playing a stupid game with only one winner.

vandammefanz1 I think you have some geographical issues.

RJ Lee Russia has never owned the skies over Syria, not ever, 90% of all air activity over Syria is coalition, every day, you can see the radar maps from CENTCOM every day, you are delusional. They cant track Russian planes? Are Su-24s, 34s and 35s low observable or did they switch on their Romulan cloaking devices lmao. So how come the Turks saw that SU-24? Mate, get a fucking grip.

"Russians wouldnt have made the impact and headlines they did if their involvement would have been so insignificant." Let me introduce you to an old Russian concept called "propaganda", they are past masters at it. The Coalition is focused and can focus on Syria and Iraq, whereas the Russian air element in Syria has been so small they can only focus on Syria, the only thing they have achieved in their air campaign is to make craters in civilian neighbourhoods. I do not drink the RT Kool Aid which is why my view can never be the same as yours. Enjoy your drink. RJ Lee "You clearly have no clue how radars work and how tracking works, and what it implies." My mil service says I do indeed know "how radar works". "They dont need to be low-observable to not be tracked. Though they can be detected with little difficulty in this kind of operation" You just said they cannot be tracked without a transponder? Make up your mind. The Russians on deterrence patrols flying around the UKADR do not squawk, so umm, how do you think we can track them and intercept them with Q aircraft? You can ask the Norwegians too, the Dutch, Danish and the French? You don`t have a clue, stick to aircraft spotting.

"both sides invested a lot to set up proper communications." What, you mean like actually responding on open channels? The Russians never do, they don`t even respond, even on the freq`s agreed upon just ask the Turks. The Russians are a pain in the ass. For strategic bombers flying from Russian bases you get squat, they set up agreements then never stick to them. Who told you the RuAF routinely fly transmitting over Syria? They have an "agreement" on air safety with the coalition but that does not include an aim point list :) They even have an agreement with the Israeli`s and that has prevented the IDF from shooting down Russian aircraft which have strayed into Israeli airspace. Do you know what kind of ISR we have in the region? I am not talking simply ATC MFRs.if you think that an aircraft not squawking suddenly becomes invisible over Syria you are smoking some strong shit. Here a clue, remember those Kh Cruise missiles launched from the Russian Caspian Flotilla? We tracked every single one of them end to end and umm, they were not exactly transmitting in mode S. 1. I do not have to justify my experience with you, who has none. 2. I am old enough to be your pappy. 3. Learn about the topic before making half assed comments. RJ Lee

"Right.. you know they dont respond because you were there?" Lol.....later. "The Tukish story didnt add up. The evidence they have didnt match the shit the claimed by a long shot." Oh and the Russian Fencer CVR module when opened was so badly damaged there was no recoverable data, even after the silly fanfare of it being opened in front of the "worlds press". You are most naive, and also an asshole. 1. You have ZERO military experience. 2. You have ZERO knowledge of any operational standards used by any military force on the planet. 3. You obviously have ZERO knowledge of this topic and your understanding of the tracking abilities possessed by NATO or virtually any of the mil forces in the area is actually embarrassing. You do not even know what a transponder is nor its capabilities in any guise or version without looking it up in Wiki, and guess what, Wiki doesn't tell you shit. Look in the mirror and you will see a loser ..lol Tell them to send someone in who actually has a clue. RJ Lee

Fresh Dumbledore Wrong again, the airframe can pull 9G and can carry AIMs. its just a big SU-27 with a silly nose. The F-18s wouldn't have to dogfight it either. It wouldn't matter if they were SU-35s, they still would have turned and ran because Putin doesn't want a direct confrontation with the US military. The Russians have no moral high ground to stand on, you mentioned it yourself, Ukraine, nor for that matter does Bashir Assad.
