@JohnCSmith-lp1qr Are you of those who believes there is nothing wrong with invading another country and forcibly occupying its power plants, whilst forcing its employees to work at gunpoint? I believe they call that sort of person a Vatnik.
2
Not any more, are you thinking of older PAC-2 variants? Circa 1991.
2
Yes. Depending on what type of course.
2
That is certainly a worry to be honest. MM -104 doesnt look as "mobile" as a true self propelled SAM.
1
@JohnCSmith-lp1qr To be fair, Patriot has been largey successful for the Saudis, there have been a few fails but the system has taken down a couple of hundred targets. As for Iraq, the modern variants are nothing like the 1991 variants.
1
LOl how is the 3 day special operation going Vatnik?
1
@JohnCSmith-lp1qr That could cause multiple millions in damage to a power plant.
1
@JohnCSmith-lp1qr Oh come on dude dont be a Vatnik.
1
Because those countries will have to foot the much larger bill to maintain and operate them as systems new to them.
1
@toddbrackett4277 No, it is a valid question, they have sunk costs with their current systems, so who will pay for their new systems?
1
@toddbrackett4277 both.
1
@toddbrackett4277 Well I think you answered my question and validated it, Ukraine does not want old S-300 PMU-, they want PAC-2 GEM-T and somebody has to pay for Greek and Bulgarian PAC-2 GEM-T systems even if you did manage to convince UKR to accept those ancient S300s.
1
@toddbrackett4277 I am not seeing your point to be honest. The ship for sending S-300 to UKR has already passed. They need MIM-104.
1
Be happy with your Russian S-400s....
1
There is a school of thought and it is very likely to be true, that Ukrainian SAM operators have been training on Patriot for quite a while already.
1
I doubt they are getting PAC-3 MSE etc so not the latest missiles. More likely PAC-2 GEM if there are any left.
1
Who invaded Mexico?
1
@SaintPatrick1970 They are very good but Russian and US systems have their disadvantages and advantages. The latest systems fielded by both sides are probably equal in terms of capability. Where the Russians are behind is in ABM there is no doubt about it in my opinion. It`s also worth remembering that the S-300 missiles were modelled on American missiles as well as complete system architecture including C2 for later versions. In fact the original missiles were almost carbon copies of one particular US missile - the Sprint ABM.

Enlighten us oh Lord of War?
1
Which version of the Patriot are you talking about? Also, if many other nations can operate MM-104 without US service folk why couldnt Ukraine? As for its performance in SA, you are wrong I am afraid, Patriot has intercepted hundreds of targets, you only see the videos where they appear to have failed which are few in number to be honest.
