  2. AEGIS is a mature system and its very adept at what it does, in Yemen it has not been disclosed what splashed the inbounds, ECM / ESSM or SM2 or malfunction. Patriot in GWI was never designed to engage fast moving SRBMs like Scud I would have been shocked if it did. I have to say , again, all weapons system tests are held under non combat ideal conditions, especially if they are contractor controlled tests!

  5. GBI = Ground Based Interceptor, those are the three and two staged interceptors with a KKV carried which intercepts ballistic missiles in space during the mid course phase of the flight profile. The US MDA killed an ICBM target using the GBI in September 2017. THAAD is not fast enough to take on an ICBM RV traveling at Mach 20-24., which is why its official classification is as a counter to slower IRBM RV`s not ICBMs.

  6. Unless THAAD employs a brand new KKV with a very large cross range capability it will be next to useless against maneuvering re entry vehicles.
