  3. ShadowFalcon They also keep repeating the Fanboy mantra that one F-117 downed in thousands of missions flown , somehow represents some sort of failure of Stealth. Hell if we lost 5 F-117s over their operational life its still a stunning success.

  6. I think it was a decent Op by the Serb SAM operators, those Ops were skilled operators whose job was instructors at the Army SAM school. The USAF made some goofs that helped them to achieve the kill but it took considerable effort. Apart from that, this is all we really know. The Serbs aren't going to say publicly "exactly" how they did it, I have seen some pretty convincing "misinformation" on the topic, as far as the US side is concerned, the report into the shootdown remains classified and has never been published.

  9. The SU-35s speed advantage over the F-35 in most scenarios is a myth since the SU will be hampered by drag caused by external weapons carriage. This will cause range issues, speed and altitude issues thus evaporating this perceived advantage. Remember, the F-35 will be "clean" with every advantage this brings in terms of low drag and fuel savings. What the SU will be able to do is to choose to turn around and extend to fight another day. Also , too many assumptions are being made about the capability of countermeasures on both sides, nobody knows how effective or not they will be. Lastly, if you are going to compare missile PK in 2017 ie, an AMRAAM 120-D with the PK of Gulf War era weapons like the Sparrow which is what was used in 1991, it makes that comparison moot.

  10. SO how long do you think the F-35 is going to leave its bay doors open and how long do you think the F-117 left its bay doors open? How did lancaster bombers and B-17s do with their bomb bay doors open in WW2 then ?
