  1.  @gvaik  Russia has a shortage of precision artiliery weapons but more importantly their field intelligence is appalling. They just dont have the ISR assets to really hurt the AFU in the field, they have only relied on massed area artiliery attacks and large numbers of troops.

  2. The AFU are getting every scrap of capability out of every weapon system they have been given and I have no doubt they have expanded the envelope of some of those systems too. They have been magnificent.

  8.  @CloneDAnon  Russian military in Ukraine have already said Tornado family rockets are not as good as M31 in practice, good on paper. The difference is UKR is not paying for its GMLRS, unlike Russia.

Which is obviously not correct, there is not a single video of any Russian SAMs intercepting any HIMARS rockets, and Ukraine has hit every target it wants to hit with them. Mind you, they have probably intercepted a small number but nothing beyond that, maybe 5%. I think the problem they have is an M31 is very small and very fast so they likely have fuzing issues for their SAM warheads, hitting those rockets is likely right at the edge of their fuze performance envelope for systems like Pantsir and TOR, BUK etc made even more difficult due to reaction times, M31s are in the air for just 90 seconds at max range.To confound the issue, those AD assets have to be in the exact right place to intercept the inbounds or they will fail. And I know not all of their SAM crews would be super duper, the people matter more than the equipment. There is no way thery are shooting down 70% of M31 rounds I don`t buy it. Only the specilised versions of S-300 like `300V are likely to have any reasonable capability against them. They do have other even more specialised versions of S-300 designed to hit ballistic missiles but they dont have a lot of those systems to spare and to position in Ukraine, those units have special duties in Russia. S-400 faces the very same problems as S-300. Reaction times Placement Capability Operator quality. Results against the Antonovsky bridge were excellent, that`s why the Russians were forced to use a Pontoon ferry to get their gear across, and let us not pretend the small amount of PBX inside the payload section of an M31 was ever going to be large enough to drop a bridge span but it certainly bottlenecked Russian supply lines with regular attacks on it and made it unpassable for heavy armour. As for Russian GMLRS, sorry but it has been widely reported they dont have the same impact as M31s, we can see from pictures of those strikes on the bridge of close to 1 metre CEP, Russia cannot match that capability and they have admitted that themselves.
