  1. Brexit didn’t help, we are looking at a long term 4% hit to GDP which is £100 billion. The OBR have been very consistent with that projection since 2016. The main problem with this 2.5% increase (0.3%} is it could all be swallowed up by inflation. 3% is needed now not in 2029. Otherwise inflation and GDP growth slowdown will make it a nothing burger.

  4. Fun fact, they haven’t included inflation which could render this increase to 2.5% moot. They need to spend 3% and they need to do that now, not in 2029.
