  1. The aircraft was good but its systems were only maybe 4 or 5 years ahead of its competitors. The F1-11 did its role just as well.

  2.  @sandervanderkammen9230  It was a stable high speed low level platform but as somebody mentioned on here not the diamond people think of it now. The nostalgia and mourning for the British fighter industry has taken primacy.

  3. We like to romanticise the past, the TSR2 was good but giving it God like status is ridiculous English exceptionalism. It was no more advanced than the F1-11.

  10. Low level low yield Nuke delivery was actually a tactic but crews still won’t talk about how in case we ever have to arm ourselves with free fall tac nukes again. I’d imagine it was low level run in with a lofted release.

  11. Except the tactical free fall bomb role never went to the RN. The RAF retained that until the early 1990s.
