  2.  Jason Lane  Not having a car is freeing as I dont need to take care of it I dont need pay attention to gas prices. I have no need of a car while Im living in a city.

  3.  @khulhucthulhu9952  You just need to reduce the ammoun of room for cars. If trafic gets worse fewer people will driwe. And that space can be used for other things.

  4.  Jason Lane  If you fear the government what are you doing on the internet where they can write down everything about you? Anyways if the government wanted to stop someone form moving around they would do so. If you have a car they will just revoke your licence if thats not enough they would just confiscate it. Actually making sure you are unable to take any public transportation is harder. Having a car is not a must. Eating is a must. These 2 are not comparable as you will die if you stop doing 1 of these but not the other. Public transportation is more conveniant what why I dont have a car. And the fact that I walk atleast 10 km a day makes it so its kind of hard for me to get fat. As for safety it depends on the situation.

If you want a mode of transportation that is independant form the grid you need to be able to walk, buy a bike or get a horse. "I'm sorry you an't afford a car" I can get a car, and I already have a drivers licence. The reason I dont have a car is because I dont want one having a car is a hassal. "are forced to waste half your day walking to train station..waiting for train...taking slow indirect route to your point then you still aren't at your destination...." Dude I dont live in the USA. Taking a car is slower taking the buss and/or tram in the city. While when going to the countryside I can ask people to drive me form the buss stop to the home.

(Tho I know its not the case for most, in my country 100% of the electricity is HES generated, and my country has no oil so an embargo would make us have 0.) "taking a car is never slower than train or bus.." In the city if you take parking in to account it is slower. "so you use cars...but just other people's cars" Thats how it is if you have good family and good friends. If a car is needed you can borow one.
