  1. Boncuklu Tarla is over 1000 years older and then Göbekli Tepe (a near by site) and much, much bigger. Like only 10% uncovered, if you want your mind blown look at Tarla as well as other adjacent sites. I wouldnt be shocked if by say 30 years from now - those interlocking sites/communities are referred to as our first known civilization.

  3.  @yayhandles  writing in support of accounting is the big one as interlocking communities need to keep track of trade which is required on some form of scale. Farming I can see how monolith and religious sites can close those gaps, but writing or some basic form of accounting would be a requirement - agreed.

  12. To my knowledge there are Çayönü, Göbekli Tepe, Karahan Tepe, and Tarla all fairly close together look the paper: "Göbekli Tepe and the Identification of Temples in the Pre-Pottery Neolithic of the Near East" - there are a bunch of sites throughout the levant. @deleted-something

  13. my understanding the issue with the Cuba site is combo of the govt of Cuba and depth of the site - both detract from folks deep diving (no pun intended). But yeah I would love to see that explored as well. @Caleb1874ya

  14. The big one for me is record keeping / writing - the other hallmarks are easy to see as the scale of the communities keeps growing. Even the papers like "Göbekli Tepe and the Identification of Temples in the Pre-Pottery Neolithic of the Near East" brush over the insane scale of the sites - especially as most of the larger ones arent excavated. @novh4ck
