Russia is attacking an entrenched enemy - without true superior weaponry, air, or manpoower - across 300+ mile long entrenchments; literally the Russians will lose 20k to 30k soldiers over the offensive and will not take anything that they will be able to hold. They are literally breaking their shitty army in front of the world. If the think tanks beta's did time BOG in Iraq or Syria they would know this.

If i was in an OGA - which are kind of joke sense best folks always leave for private sector hence why DC policy folk are so bad and corrupt - I would make peace with Wagner/FSB clique and bridge them with other elements of the FSO/GRU factions to maintain one cohesive Russia, in return Ukraine ends and they get their country back - and destruction of their nuclear stockpile (80% of there overall horde).
