A better question - where did PBOC get 14 bil in USD? Can anyone say liquidity crunch (dollar scarcity) and therefore worsening the collateral crisis (Treasuries will skyrocket in the short term).

@maddoo23 quadrillion would only apply to otc swap notional volume globally. I dont think you understand monetary realities of the global economic structure - but neither does Winnie the Pooh and company, so there is that.

@maddoo23 i dont think you understand how over the barrel China is or how close they are to breaking. By pegging to USD and being the manufacturer of the US hegemony they damned their people for what is to come, there is no escape. Ask yourself this how much RMB does the Fed or Treasury have on hand? Better yet look up who is the largest holder of RMB outside of China?

@maddoo23 that isnt gigantic considering they only 1 trillion in treasuries. And the fact that they need to spend resources and energy in accumulating dollars speaks to the diminishing returns and domestic inflation on their horizon.
