@paulattaboyatreides6414 no that is not how that works - if you ever worked with or for NORAD you would understand how ICBM's work, what is the risk of them going off, and how the logistical supply chain (super duper expensive) required to keep them FMC. Literally every missile in the US arsenal has had every component replaced multiple times over in the course of decades. Super expensive, meticulous, never ending maintenance cycle - do you think the corrupt and shitty regime in Russia can say the same thing. And just for awareness the US alone tested 2000 plus bombs in our history and vast majority were underground. Russia tested much more then us. Although I would not want to be in Russia if those bad boys went off.

@paulmaxwell-walters8861 I cant see it - i have friends in NORAD and work in Logistics back in the day - maintaining nuclear weapons is a logistical and costly and draconian nightmare. For context every weapon built in say 1970 or 1980 has been rebuilt in place through lifecycle maintence multiple times over. Also google Russia concern starlink - this is on their radar, there are other systems out there as well no one ever talks about maybe becasue no one ever wants to think about using them.

@fernandofernandez8067 no that isnt remotely true - you need to just study nuclear testing and yield results to know that. Both Russia and the US have tested more than that in a calendar year at one time or another - most likely even simultaneously in the 50's.

@nczioox1116 I doubt it - just google search Kursk Submarine accident and knowing how shitty and corrupt your government is; ask yourself can they maintain any of this? And what happens if a handful out of the '6000' actually deploy and use destroy all but say 10 - what do you think we would do to beloved mother Russia? Do you think anyone will build museums or weep - or just say behold modern Carthage. You should all do yourself a favor and put down that creepy little feral freak and find someone actually competent to negotiate a withdrawal from Ukraine with a treaty that state Ukraine will not join NATO.

@fernandofernandez8067 we have dropped much more than that during the 50's and 60's; much more - did temperatures and crop yields go up or down?

@kennethstacy9298 Correct - totally agree. Also since the tests in the 50's and 60's has global temperatures and crop yields gone up or down? If their models were right we should be in a nuclear winter at the moment.
