The analysis provided is garbage - Russia is taking eastern valleys, while Ukraine artillery and other systems is staged on the hills and ridge lines; every mile the Russians take the deeper the noose gets around their neck.

If the Fed was smart, which they arent, as part of QT they would execute asset swaps - give us your gold in return treasuries and or MBS. For instance, Ukrainian gold reserves stand at ~30 bil; they are many other USD starved nations in NATO / EU - or APAC / LACC that would jump at such an offer. You could also lift export/import sanctions and just tax Russian commodities and have that nut pay for Ukraine war effort / rebuild. Same goes with unfreezing Russian assets and handing them over to allies to cover cost of war effort. But alas our leaders are limited, self serving, and reactive.
