  1. He is right - minus one fact, once we leave the violence doesnt stop they just go back to killing each other. Afghanistan does not exist as a nation state, Kabul's legitimacy is non-existant outside of Kabul. Imagine with 90% of the US was the poorest parts of West VA; or imagine if the TV show 'Oz' had a baby with the movie the 'Hunger Games' - that is what Afghanistan was like, at least for me over the two years I spent there.
